Hi guys,
In March, I'm heading up to Minneapolis on business. While there, I plan to visit a frind and her five year old son. He's a big Batman and Starwars fan. I plan to bring him some toys and would like to make him a few lanyards with Batman or Starward beads vs. skulls. I haven't been able to find any of these on the net. Have you guys seen anything like this in your travels? Thanks in advance.

I'd never even considered that, and I thought properly sized skull beads were hard to find -- I think you've got your work cut out for you. You may be able to find some sort of movie keychain/charm jewelry that you can modify and drill a hole in to make a bead, but I doubt that you'll have much luck finding one pre-made. I thought about the Star Wars Monopoly tokens, but found that they were tiny figurines rather than just heads. Your best option may be to find a suitably-sized small action figure (possibly at a flea market if price is an issue) to decapitate and drill.

your best bet is lego starwars. i had a lego spiderman on my keychain for a long time. get to your local lego store and grab a lego c3p0, lea, and vader. decapitate and i believe the factory hole goes all the way through, so you won't have to drill. might have to, but at least they gave you a start.
i have seen lego batman, but i'm not sure how common that is.
i want a lego batman now.

Bill just use the skulls and tell them that they're "Pirates of the Caribbean" beads. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Pirate stuff seams pretty cool to kids these days! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the ideas guys. I havae't been out to shop for anything yet, just looking around on the net. If I can make this happen, this little guy will be thrilled.
He is the son of a single mom who is a friend of mine and I feel sorry for him. I've never met the little buzzard, but expectto in March.
