Dan - you can learn to play a little guitar - its a fun hobby - musically inclined or not! Check out the Epiphone Les Paul Studio, or Epiphone Les Paul Studio Goth - both are great, and $300! Here's my Goth: ![[Linked Image from i163.photobucket.com]](http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t311/dzrice/lpg.jpg) That is beautiful!! You definately have good taste!!!

those art and lutherie guitars are great. i have one too, though my dean exotica gets all the play. it was my first good acoustic guitar and it must be great if it's held me off from buying a martin or seagull or any of those. the exotica was a gift from my sister and it took a long time for me to get it sounding good. i like the seagulls and tacomas for acoustics, though.
electric, i'm basically ibanez and paul reed smith. prs may be demoted from the list as they expand but fender's making a huge comeback, so we'll wait and see. ibanez rga121...that guitar's too good. i challenge any of you to play it and not love it.

ive played with a couple ibanez rg's and i must say i did like them, but my next guitar choices for electric are either an ibanez s series with the 5 piece necks, or a jackson soloist. Definatly my two fav that ive tried out. for my acoustic, its been able to hold me on buying, but only because if i got anything else it would be over $5000

rga is a stew made from the best ideas that ever went into a guitar. carved maple top on a mahogany body, sculpted to the extreme, hard mounted pickups with coil taps, wizard prestige neck, straight string pull headstock, resonant stain finish, gotoh tuners, smooth heel, and some crazy new fixed bridge.
m workhorse had the same pickups before i swapped the bridge for a duncan custom. mine's string-through hardtail and basswood. the ibanez guitars made in japan consistently impress me. once in a while i won't be thrilled, but that compares very favorably with the american guitars that only rarely impress me. i've enjoyed more chinese and korean guitars than american, sadly.

now prs is goin down the tubes. the day i saw their first import i was just as offended as we would be if jerry or dan started sellin 420 knives made in china.

I had the exact same feeling. I'd always kind of held PRS on a pedestal - granted I'm a "Gibson guy," but my respect for that company has always been rather low - I just love Les Pauls. When I saw PRS whore themselves out to the cheapie market, I was shocked and offended!

yeah, i'm not quite over t and probably never will be.
this is why we should get quicksilvers. the rga121 wth a good set of duncans in it is about as good as a production guitar gets, though. after that, you need a handmade instrument made by a master luthier who hand picks the most resonant woods and top quality hardware before fitting and finishing everything perfectly.

Snook - how heavy is it?
Dan - she's plain jane but rocks hard! Simplicity is nice sometimes, though.

Mag - I hate the Roman headstock... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> And, my soul is intertwined with the feel of a Les Paul - I'm retarded like that. No doubt the QS guitars are tops though, I'd love to play one someday...
