Well, I am a bit rusty on the drums these days, but I did remember to bring a practice pad down to school last weekend. I also brought marching drum sticks (which I don't really like) so I could brush up on technical marching type stuff, which I hope will bring back some skill on my drum set whenever I go home next. It's all fun though. I've gotta say, after seeing how serious and almost competitive some musicians are, I've decided that there is a point when musicians are "good" and have a lot of fun doing what they do. I consider that the pinnacle of music. Yes, talent is very important, but you have to enjoy it. That's the mind set I've had while taking up the guitar. I don't plan on being the best guitarist around. Heck, I don't even know if I'll ever play the guitar in a band, but I am having a blast learning to play and don't have any regrets for buying the guitar.

I've got a few small amps and a cheapo Warlock... Will upgrade soon to a nice Marshall stack and maybe a Gibson flying V. ![[Linked Image from i54.photobucket.com]](http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g82/greensBF/DSC03270.jpg)

How did it go, buddy? I finished my LAST FINAL EXAM yesterday! Graduation on Saturday... Went and saw NOFX and No Use For A Name the other night, which was a great show.
My brother just bought a Bugera amp - 120watts TUBE, 2x12 combo - it is an awesome amp for ~$500.

congratulations, dice. i'm extremely jealous. i just paid the tuition for my last semester.
the show was pretty crummy, but we had fun anyway. there were some terrible singers and talented-yet-boring musicians. i pretty much made a joke of the whole thing when got on stage and played tons of licks and shred between songs and other people's sets. two other acts needed last minute guitarists and asked me to play. i got on stage for a song i had never heard or played. all i knew was the key would pivot between D and G. wore a cowboy hat, there should be some videos on youtube sometime soon.

Link the vids when they're up! As long as you had fun - thats all that matters. We're going to gig later this summer - thats the plan anyways. We have some more crummy recordings up at www.myspace.com/comeupswinging - no one link it if you're offended by some profanity! We're having a good time though - "Riverbed" is probably my favorite track, "Down At The Pub" is a lot of fun as well. I just took out $30,000 worth of student loans for law school next year (I've decided on UMontana - Gonzaga was another $20k more for tuition alone, not to mention an inter-state move).

nice dice! I like the band... it's not really my style, but you guys sound really good.
my favorite song by far is "going home"... I really like the drums, I was expecting them to open up more though... like... some hard open hi hat. I guess it depends on what the chorus is like though.
listening to that song inspired the first time I actually had some musical talent/ideas rush through me for a second, I was really feeling those drums... (I would've thrown some double bass in there somewhere too, but that's just my style )
maybe metal isn't my style after all?!

EMF - that is the oldest and worst recording of the bunch - it needs redone - and we'll get it up there in the next month I hope. I'll let you know - its a great song, and that terrible recording doesn't do it any kind of justice!

I can't really tell a difference with the recordings... cause honestly, I don't have a great musical ear. let me know when you get the new one up for sure!

Just an update, I am now the proud owner of an Ibanez s1620fb prestige guitar. I must say its the best guitar I've played to date. I'll post pictures as soon as I get my friends camera up here.
