Well,
Second try. My last post just disappeared. I just read over on BF thread from 9-26-07 where AGRussel said he and Jerry Busse bought tons of what used to be called Carbon V (i.e. 0170-6c) at the Camalus auction. So that would explain why CS had to drop Carbon V (I read the over seas guys would not use it anyway) and why Mike Stewart can not use it for his Golok. So I think I was wrong. It sounds like this probably is the numbers and letters steel. 0170-6c was also the steel used for the Becker knives.
