I think that even my old Western Bowie could do that. The key is not to hit it straight on, but at an angle, as you would with a machete. The Browning Crowell-Barker is designed for such use. As has been said, a lot of it is technique. I think any good sharp bowie or machete could do it in the right hands.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Congrats on JYD status.
I do comp cutting with my katana and the trick is to pull a bit as you swipe at it. You want to pull it across the edge not hit it like a baseball. The DFLE could do it easily with the stock edge but even better with a zero edge.

I wonder how a serrated edge would do on that? Probably against the rules.

Is there any limits as to how slow you can swing? I bet you could do really well with one of these serrated edges: http://www.husqvarna.ca/node1556.aspx?pid=77<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /><img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
