I think that I've only had a "real" flu once. It was quite awful -- running from both ends and not enough strength to make it to the bathroom without help. I've been sick other times with what most people call the flu, but those were pale shadows in comparison -- I might have been miserable, but that's the only time I was helpless. Still, it was intestinal -- from what I've read, flu strains that attack the lungs are the really bad ones, like the H5N1 avian flu that was reported as a potential pandemic.

Of course, if you go back to 1918 there's the "Spanish Flu" in that category. It was an amazing bug; it had a high mortality rate and was actually most effective against people with strong immune systems. Most flu only kills the very young and very old, but half of its victims were between 20 and 40. I saw a documentary on PBS where they said it struck down strong, healthy individuals so fast that they might have a light cough in the morning and be dead before sundown.

Good to see you back among the land of the living Dan!

Looks like friday is going to be a great opportunity for some new dogs to snag the ultimate chopper!

Be warned though! The Dog Father is what started me down the slippery slope of high performance blades!

Glad you're back, Dan! My brother and father will probably be jumping on these... I really hope there's going to be enough to go around - I'm going to be fast if I'm getting some. Good luck guys!

I think this one will be like the YKCG.

Spanish Flu killed more people than the first world war.

Are the sterile DF's flat ground or sabre ground?

I am happy either way. I love the flat ground DFLE but if they are sabre ground it kind of makes the DFLE's even more special.

For some reason military guys like serrations. My theory is all the webbing and cable ties they have to cut but a DFCG MOD with serrations would be nifty.

Glad your're recovering, Dan. Now we don't have to relive those thrilling posts of yesteryear! Several forum members have mentioned wanting a Dog Father, so these should sell out fast. Get well!

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

So glad you are better Dan. The Yard was sniffing like mad for steel!

Like C.O. said... beware all new members! Owning The Dog Father started me too on a unbridled hunt for Scrap Yard Knives!

Without doubt the finest chopper ever made at any price!

This is a great opportunity for all Dogs who didn't score a Dog Father to snatch one up and find out what all the hype is all about!

Chris I know your collection will NOT be the same without a NO LOGO Combat Grade Dog Father!!

This Yard ROCKS!!!

Peace.

Welcome back. I am amazed at the number of people who got the shot and still get sick. I have always avoided the shot. I am not sure what it does long term to your immune system.

Great to have you back BD.

You did say that your back with some "knives" does this mean there will be others in addition to the DFs?

JYD#14 Do you need one, of course you do it's a knife and you like knives.....

Hi,

What's the difference between Combat Grade (CG) and Sterile?

Thanks!
