Well, I decided to go on a little hike today on the coast at a state park. It was a beautiful day! Nice and sunny without much for clouds in the sky. I think it was probably about 65 degrees by the water and about 75 degrees at the top of the peak that I hiked up. Here are some pictures for you all:

First, a couple pictures down by the water:

This trail took me out over a small cove:

The state flower:

Next I turned around to go up the peak. Here's a view of the cove from my first short stop:

Another picture from above:

This was from the top of the peak, looking away from the beach:

One looking to the beach:

Here's one looking down at the cove and my second picture stop. The "1" is where the first beach pictures were taken, and the "2" is on the other side of that small hill where I took the other picture looking down on the cove:

Of course, I had to bring a knife or two. That's a Dumpster Mutt and Ranger knife. There weren't any trees so there wasn't much reason to take them out (especially with sheeple around).

And last, the footwear that got me up the 1300 foot peak (I know, some might think I'm crazy for wearing those for a hike, but they are designed for the outdoors).

Classic West Coast scenery! Thanks for posting these. You have some nice hiking trails out there. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

"where in ca are you? looks central/northern."

These pictures are near San Luis Obispo. This beach is just south of Morro Bay. The actual location is Montana De Oro State Park (if that sounds at all familiar). It was a fun hike. I'm thinking about going there again today.

I really like the northern coastline. I grew up in Northern California, and while it may not have warm sandy beaches, it sure is picturesque.

Been a few years since I've made it to the ocean, those pics have really got me wanting to go!!!

Never been to the west coast though... some day. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />
