Hmmm, and the mini mojo is basically the same as the yardhook which also was the longest available SY knife.

Just not a popular style I guess.

who cares what he releases... its just redicuous that they last for 35 minutes. all that people ever talk about on here is what he might or should release... every thread is the same... i seldomly see dog threads where they are reviewing a blade that they bought.. and it makes being a supporter tough when the co. you are trying to support doesnt keep product out steadily...

did you just get in to busse kin knives?
just wondering, I did recently too, and that is one of the things you should consider and know when getting into busse knives.
like, did you just realize this?
not everything goes this fast, I think the dmutt LE and DFLE lasted from around a day, these DFCG's went so fast because they were a very small run, and the yardkeeper was a really popular knife and went faster than expected, some knives last longer than others.

not every knife sells out in an hour...
just so you know.

I take it you missed the dogfathers?

oh and that part about people only talking about release...
is that a joke?
people always post new photos and reviews on knives, I see more pics, and more use pics here than on any other forum.
and maybe they talk about next release so much because SY are so in demand?

just a thought.
sorry you couldn't score a dogfather though.

You can believe me when I tell you that I share your frustration, reconseed. I just missed the first DF release and bought one on ebay. When the DFLE was annnounced, a knife I had been trying to make my CG into for months, my computer and internet connections started giving me trouble. A kind dog covered for me. Last night, I was trying my best to get some DFs for others and could not get the order to go through. Several kind dogs who scored extras offered to help, and I asked them to try and help out those who missed out. Hopefully one of those who got an extra will contact you and help you out.

These are limited production knives and sometimes hard to get. That is just the way it is. BTW, I have done quite a few comparisons of SY knives with other similar size knives, and the Scrappers come out on top more often than not. Others have done extensive destruction testing of them and they are amazingly tough. So when you do finally get one, it will last you a lifetime. Good luck.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

i'll take a scrap-weiler fo' sho.

i'm dying for some type of edc knife from the yard, something around the size of a warden.i love choppers all day long but i also like a little diversity.

I WANT TO "EDC" A SCRAPYARD.....and while technically i could edc a YK its a little to big.i dont own a S4 but even thats a tiny bit bigger than what i,m looking for.

another thing.jusr because its small doesnt mean it has to be stainless or that crap.i would love to edc some S7 so that even though its small it can still handle its own.

you haven't been on as much lately, glad to hear from you.
I agree, not all small knives have to be stainless knives, or have the BEST edge holding, just because it's little doesn't mean your not going to use it hard.

Well, my preferences would still be Scrap-Weiler 1st,
followed by the SS-3.5 second.

But, I could probably be swayed by the following Skelly concept as my 3rd or possibly even second choice:

My version of a Scrap Yard Skelly:

[Linked Image from i80.photobucket.com]

But, there are a lot of little details about the Skelly concept that are very relevant to me.

The handle is based on the Busse AD's handle, but important to NOT have a Talon Hole or oversized guard!

I like the pin holes in the Skelly's handle. This allows for installation of a handle for those who might want scales. I almost always want scales on my knives and find skelly's to not be very comfortable without them. So, this design is nice and versatile.

The above concept would improve upon the Swamp Warden in quite a few relevant ways IMO:

- Better fit, feel and ergos in the hand.
- Better blade design for task type chores (Swamp Warden is a good blade design, but not as good for tasks and more suited for skinning. I don't need a skelly for skinning. I have better skinning options.)
- Blade edge in closer to the hand offers better control and use for tasks with blade edge near hand. I don't mind a VERY small guard, but not as large as the Swamp Warden's or AD's! - The AD's choil is way too big as well!
- Option for scales to be added - for do-it-yourselfers!

The Swamp Warden's handle just doesn't work for me. It just doesn't feel and fit right for me. When I hold the Swamp Warden, I want to choke up and hold it with my index finger at the guard and that just doesn't work. Because of the hollow handle, I can't remove or reshape the guard without risking the integrity of the whole knife's handle. The blade on the Swamp Warden is pretty good, but has more belly than I prefer. I would rather have a shallower belly for task use.

I don't have to have stainless in a smaller blade, but I honestly don't feel SR-77 is so great for smaller blades. I feel there are many GREAT stainless steels that will easily "Hold their own" in a smaller knife and that I would rather have than SR-77 - or I would be fine with SR-101, A2 or some other steel options with better edge holding potential.

However, my knife WILL be made satin - Especially smaller ones.
For EDC, sweat and other issues create rust on SR-101 pretty easily when the blade is satin. So, I would be VERY fine with stainless on a little knife - although, not required. What is highly preferred is excellent edge quality. SR-77 is good, but there are better options including many better stainless options in regards to edge holding - and again that are plenty tough (for me) in a smaller blade.
I don't need a little knife to be as super tough as SR-77. That type of toughness is way over-kill (IMO) for a small knife. At some point, the other factors in knife steel start to become more relevant if the other steel options are tough enough.

I want a little knife to cut stuff with. I am not looking to hammer it into a brick wall and use it for a step. but, that is just my opinion.... I realize where I am and others may want a little knife for hammering into brick walls. - On the other hand, I have read quite a few people interested in a good stainless for certain smaller knives. It is not my decision. I am just one vote.

But, for my vote, again, I DO want SR-77 in my Scrap-Weiler.

And I do like my above 3 concepts.

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

yeah, actually sr101 is probably a good choice for a small knife, its tough and can hold its own, yet it has great edge holding.

I hoenstly don't have much interest in small skelly's, really for anything under 4 1/2 inches, so idk really.
