So I know this has been done before, but I was soooooo bored today, so I decided to grab some knives and do something with them. I thought I’d do a quick chopping comparison between some knives. ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures132.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures133.jpg) So I found this weird piece of like… driftwood and decided it would do… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures134.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures136.jpg) The DFLE was first ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures137.jpg) I gave the stick 20 chops ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures139.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures140.jpg) Next up was my kabar fighter (my first big fixed blade) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures141.jpg) Before I chopped I noticed the sky, and how dark it was… I looked out over the river… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures142.jpg) To my left… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures143.jpg) And to my right…. It was pretty dark, so I decided to hurry up and get chopping after 20 chops with the kabar. I kept getting kind of distracted by the sky and the birds swarming and took some more pics (maybe too many, but oh well) It was weird, one side of the sky was bright And one was very dark… I know, you’d think I’d never seen a cloudy sky before, sorry I just couldn’t help but take pics… (more to come)

Anyways, I got my yardkeeper, ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures149.jpg) And gave twenty chops ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures150.jpg) Obviously, not as good as the others, but it didn’t do bad. Then I grabbed my rd9, this things has a lot of metal behind the edge and can take some abuse, although it didn’t bite as deep as the DFLE, it did great. ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures153.jpg) So the “results” DFLE ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures155.jpg) Kabar ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures156.jpg) Yardkeeper ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures157.jpg) Rd9 ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures158.jpg) The sky was getting bad, so I went inside, put away the knives, and washed my hair… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures160.jpg) When I came down, I realized that the sky cleared up. ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures161.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures168.jpg) So by this time my brother was interested in the knives and we both went outside for some more chopping fun. It took some good bites, even though my brother isn’t the best chopper. My brother kept saying, when he was chopping “Dan sure knows how to make a good knife for a good price” Lol I explained to hime the busse kin story and he is always talking to me about swamprat, busse and scrapyard. So I chopped with the DFLE and too the log out in 4 chops… it took some great bites… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures180.jpg) So my little brother wanted to try all the knives out, so he grabbed the rd9 and started chopping away… ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures181.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures182.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures183.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures185.jpg) It was a little too much knife or him and he couldn’t control it and chop like he could with the dfle. (the DFLE is his favorite knife) he took a few chops with the yard keeper... ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures186.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures188.jpg) So he tried the kabar out, and could chop pretty good with that, he liked the handle because it was small enough for him to get a good grip on the knife. ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures190.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures191.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i214.photobucket.com]](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc216/tomorrowrememberstoday/KNIVES/LynnsPictures193.jpg) But after a little of that, he switched back to the DFLE, And finished up the job… So then I chopped and pried a little with the DFLE, nothing hard at all… These pics are pretty boring, but I didn’t have much to work with. (I need a yard with some stuff to chop) All in all, it was pretty fun, even though we didn’t have a lot to chop. When my CGDF gets here, maybe I’ll get to my cousins house and do some real chopping.

ehh, the only other blade I have (thats worth mentioning) is my cs kukri machette. it's really a great chooper, idk how it would compare to the DFLE, it probably doesn't chop as good as the DFLE. I really don't know, I've never done a comparison between them, I should. maybe tomorro. I know mag has one (the same one as me) so he might be able to tell you. PM him or something.

That seems like fun. Almost as fun as when I nearly chopped through a downed tree, 17 inches in diameter. However, I must say, you better get yourself some pants for that DFLE or it's gonna bite ya back really bad.

17 inches?! alright, I have to beat that... have to!
pants? never! lol the ducttape sheath actually works fine for now. when I get moeny I'm willing to not spend one knives, I will get some nice rainwalker pants. I might give kydex sheaths a try though, I need a belt sander and a press. and kydex isn't actually that espensive, I'm sure I could make a semi decent taco sheath for a small knife here or there. but I will mostly relly on rainwalker. but I'm not ready for spending on custom pants yet.

I didn't get all the way through. It was getting a little wet and dark. Here's a pic though. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0013-1.jpg) I got more than 2/3 way through though, maybe a little more. Here some pics while were at it. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0010-3.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0012-1.jpg) Here's a pic of the area. This tree had already fallen. ![[Linked Image from i235.photobucket.com]](http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee292/The_Aaij_1/DSC_0014-1.jpg) I guess it isn't 17 inches. But it's way more than 14 inches. I got through the blade length of the FBM and there was a good 4-5 inches left. After doing all of that, I finally was able to get a minor blister from the FBM handles.
