The LE has a higher grind much more suitable for slicing. I don't have either one, but several people have commented on it. I think it looks better too. But if you have a good-slicing folder on you also, I think that takes the advantage away from the LE.

CG is with me all the time. It can do just about everything with authority.

The LE is only missed or needed for the finer things in life... a clean blade to cut an apple, when dining out, kitchen duty. Their is a really nice sushi restaurant I like, Makino's. The all you can eat style has sashimi chunk tuna larger than I care for, and no decent cutlery. I always bring my DMLE to dine when I go there...

yard work, edc/defense, general utility... both blades will serve well, but I prefer the CG...

That's why i love my CG d-mutt and skipped the le. I always have a spydie or sak.

i also followed horn dog's lead, thinning and convexing the edge on my d-mutt. super sharp now and with the thick stock of the toughest steel on earth, it makes the greatest survival knife you'll find anywhere.

i have the original, i love it, but it's a beast. I also picked up the MOD, which i really really like. not normally into serrations, but this is a worthwhile exception to my policy.

Here are my Mutts:

The bottom one now has a good convex edge and cuts well. It is a CG.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I sure hope Dan offers some more UMs and YKs. Both outstanding and rugged compact knives. My Urban Mutt is just a little thicker than the DMLE, but still has a full flat grind. The handle is a little fatter, too.

I would love to get my hands on an Urban Mutt, I love the DMLE, the only knock on it is the handles are a bit too small in my hand, it doesn't feel right. I still love it, just wish it came with the fatter handles they put on the YK and Urban Mutt
