First of all, great site!
New to the forums here but a long-time knife nut. Just rec'd a close to NIB Dumpster Mutt in the mail from a fellow on Glocktalk.com.
$105 delivered (w/kydex) and feeling like I got a good deal as the blade/handle seems every bit as rugged as a SWKW Camp tramp that I foolishly traded a year or back.
I look forward to learning much here!

Yep, that's an outstanding deal. As near as I can tell, you got retail price for the knife + sheath + shipping. It's not unusual to see just the Mutt, in user condition, go for more than that on the secondary market.

don't make the same mistake twice. that camp tramp can be substituted for with other knives still in production ('weiler, rat7, small khuks, the scrapper 7 when dan finally releases it) but the d-mutt stands alone. nothing like it.

i wouldn't say obsolete. i think it's like having a late seventies muscle car. you can do with new vehicles what you do with them, but they represent something regardless of what they do.

Welcome to the yard, leighman. That DM you got may turn out to be very hard to find one day. It is such a little brute. Most who have them, love them.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I was just using the Camp Tramp as an example of what kind of knives tend to do well on the secondary market. My guess is when the S7 comes out you might see a few more CT's come up for sale but the price won't go dowm much. When the YKCG came out it made me want a res-c Howler and I think people who buy the S7 will also want a CT.
Some people might sell their CT's when they get a S7 becase they have a similar knife and as a way of cashing in.
I am not a fan of the DM. I much prefer the LE version. It is not as blunt but has the strength of the CG version. I sold my MuttCG to a drug cop who uses it as a handy entry tool and he loves it. It certainly would not be my choice for a hunting knife though.
A DM and a rock or a big stick could probably get you into pretty much any grow op though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Leighman, You did very well. I would have purchased that in a heartbeat. They are averaging $140.00 on the aftermarket.
