I bought three Dogfathers. One I gave to my brother, and another my friend is buying. The one I am keeping for me is visably thicker than the other two. It is very noticeable where the spine begins narrowing for the point. No complaints, just an observation. I need to get my hands on a caliper to confirm.

SSCamaro99_3,
Nice DF scores! i'm sure your bro and friend are glad You did!

Yes i've noticed more acute edge profiles on some knives of same model.
Also on BF.. others have noticed blade Thickness variations on same models of Game Wardens!

go figure. i think it's alcohol-related.

You have to have good knives for hacking deer out of the brush. So far my RD7 has done fine, but it is a great excuse to buy another knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

All of the Dog Fathers are cut from the same thickness of steel. They are "de-horned" along the spine and sometimes one will get less of the corners along the spine knocked off during this process which will make it look thicker than the others.

Make sense?

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Works for me. I was just checking out all the hardware, and was like <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> That one looks a bit hefty.

Fingers crossed on that mate! I've got a slightly rotten wooden fence that I'm itching to kill! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

Ahh the new way to look at weight; "I'm not Fat, I'm de-horned."

SSCamaro99_3,
so you picked the horned-iest one!

SSCamaro99_3, you're a horned dog!

Absolutely. I picked the biggest of the three. You know how the male preoccupation with size is. At least according to Freud. I also fronted the money, so I figured the choice should be mine.
