I recently updated my folder collection with a Kershaw Tyrade in orange G10 about a month ago and a ZT200 this week. I'm really liking both and the ZT200 is doing EDC duty now. Spyderco Military is next on my list to get.

I recently recieved my Rat 1 folder and is a very nice folder for the money.
It really is, LGM. Thick liners, G10 scales, and a decent steel. The thumb stud feels a little awkward for me, but my hand could adapt if I used it more. The RAT-1 is a lot of knife for the money, as you said.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I see a wide variance on the price of that Ontario RAT folder...I just looked around and saw it for $27 all the way up to $70. Why such a variance in price?

I want one of those. It wasn't too many years ago that was considered "THE" tactical folding knife to have. Then everyone went crazy, and now there are lots of "THE" folding tactical knives.

I have had several EDC folders over the years and have been carying the Orange G10 now for the past couple of months. It has been hands down the most usefull of all of them. It has been used for picking out splinters to cleaning and skinning game. I was not happy with earlier Kershaw steel. It was too hard and brittle and was dificult to sharpen. The G10 keeps an edge and is a easy to put an edge on.
The only downside is that it is a large knife and heavy in the pocket. Fortunately for me our uniforms now include tactical pants with more pocket options.
