the XM-18 used to be my grail, but the prices on those are just to ridiculous for me. if i could afford one i would get one. now i have my eyes set on the SR-1! its a wait for it but the price is just right for me!

Yes, the aftermarket prices on the Hinderer XM-18 are crazy. I was lucky to buy one direct from Rick Hinderer with no markup. It was actually the same price as the Lionsteel SR-1, which is a great looking knife.

Good lookin knife.
It must be super light to stand up in the sand like that.
iirc these pictures are only renderings of the HEST folder and not actual pictures of a knife.
I think the knives wont be made until September

I just picked up this Hinderer XM-18 with a 3.5 inch blade. It fits my hand very well and is built extremely tough. I especially like the "spanto" blade shape that is half spear point and half tanto.

Awesome looking piece of steel! I hate to be critical, but the cutting edge of the blade is pure spear point, it almost looks like they made the angles for a Tanto grind and then changed thier minds and ground it down as a Spear point. In my mind, that blade would function as a spear point, and less like a tanto. It does have a neat look about it though.

the cutting edge works like a spear point, but the tanto part of the blade comes in when you want to peirce or stab something. theres a lot of steel behind the point just like a tanto, but you still get the cutting edge of a spear point. best of both worlds.

From someone who grew up in MA, i never though i'd carry a dagger OTF automatic for self defense with no carry licence <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Toney, if I didn't know better I would think you liked folders. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
