i am trying to figure out what folder i will get next. spyderco benchmade or another crkt m16 series knife.

I own several of the folders mentioned recently.

ZT0560
ZT0561
ZT0550
Cryo
Delica w/ Emerson wave
Variety of Benchmades and Spydercos
And more than a couple Hinderers

If you have any questions I'll try my best to answer.

I do not own any CRKT folders that I can recall.

My two favorite folders at the moment are my ZT 0550 and 0560 and likely will be until I get my XM-18 from Hinderer when he starts the next run of the 3.5" version in a couple of months. I'm getting a spanto flipper, but have yet to decide on G-10 color yet. I have a feeling that I'll still love and use the ZTs once I get the XM-18; they really are THAT good. if you want an XM-18, but aren't a FR or can't cough up the money, or want a REALLY good tactical folder, the ZT 05X0s are top notch and I recommend them completely.

I wish I could post a video of the action on each. The 0550 flies open like an assisted opener and the 0560 flips as well as an XM-18.

Since I got the 05X0s, I have been wanting more and more folders (all I need is another addiction!) So I have plans to buy a few more in the near future. So far this is my list, excluding the aforementioned XM-18, which is a done deal):
-Spyderco Sage 2
-Spyderco Techno (such a cool looking little knife!)
-Spyderco Manbug (just for fun)
-Bradley Alias I
And maybe a LionSpy
I'm hoping this will satiate my folder cravings for a while. I contemplated a sebbie, but decided against it being that I'll have the Sage 2 & Alias. I'll likely get one somewhere down the road.

3.5 run will follow 24s. So it will be a bit more of a wait than "a couple months". Maybe they will prove me incorrect, but I'm fairly confident or I would not post it.

You're correct. I've been told when they will start taking orders for the 3.5", which is in a couple months. I'm not sure when I'll actually get the blade.

How do you like the Cryo? For the price, it is hard for me to pass up on it. I can't think of any reason not to get one just to try out.

Both GREAT blades. If you like them, I would definitely recomend the 05X0s.

The Cryo is a "must own" little knife. I'm a proud made in USA type, but for my planned use of these Cryos, it's perfect.

I originally bought 3. One has been gifted, one is "tucked away NIB" in case it needs to replace the one in my photo, and the one in my photo is my new checked-luggage air-travel companion. Only thing that will keep it mine is a TSA approved lock and the honesty of my fellow human. That's why I bought a spare.

It's small, so it won't upset places with silly knife laws or draw a lot of attention.

The flipper would be useless if it was not speedsafe assisted.

The clip is not my favorite, but does allow very deep carry when you pocket the knife tip-down and only a bit of the knife shows when you flip the clip (as I have on mine for tip-up carry).

My EDCs are Hinderer XMs, this guy is a very long, long way from those in most every way, but because Rick designed it, the feel, the ergonomics and layout, are familiar.

It's a good buy for my intended use and could make someone a nice EDC depending on how aggressive your ED life is, as this is not an XM.

Since folders aren't as cool as fixed blades I only have a few that I'd admit to owning. And none are that expensive.

Spyderco Delica with emerson wave. LOVE this knife.
Benchmade Mini-griptilian
CRKT Ripple, just got this one a few days ago and it is awfully slick.

Even the Ripple is getting a little big for me in terms of a folder.

Hey, men.

Well, it's been a while since I posted. I've been a little busy with life, but I'm still into knives (as much as ever) especially my Scrapyard beauties. Here's a folder that I acquired a couple of years ago. I didn't like the feel of the G10 Strider PT so I removed the G10 scale and fabricated a titanium scale for replacement and made some 1/8" spacers to maintain scale separation. While that provide a much better feel and more solid lockup, that lasted for a couple of years until I had to tinker with it again; this time I wanted to add the dimpled finish (always was the plan but never got around to it). I set up my drill press and sliding cross vise to minimize play and maximize rigidity (in lieu of a proper mill and cutter <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ). It turned out pretty well imo. So, here's the result of my perpetual tinkering with an otherwise fine knife (Strider PT):
