I agree If I ever had a problem I would email/pm the maker 1st and resolve the matter that away, just easier and no feelings/reputation were damaged ,just common curtiousy I beleive...now after matters were resolved and the maker had no issues of post for which I would ask there permission to show the quality of there customer service/warranty !

i think scrappy brings up a good point. first and foremost the guarantee on these knives is above reproach. I've seen blemishes first hand on SY knives, I've seen pictures of defects here on the yard, but never seen or heard of a failure. Northern's bubble is a bummer, but that knife will still save your life 10 times over in just about any situation imaginable.

i actually thought pretty hard about the best way to go about it with my CA and i thought it made since to me to go the same route with a SY blade.i'm not out to make anybody look bad or to rub a defect in their face.

what it boiled down to for me was openness.lets be honest, you guys want to know about these things, period, and i think as extremely loyal customers you should know.this isnt the Benchmade forum.....if they even have one......this is the yard
we're all here to stay and me having a little problem and talking about it isnt going change that.

when my CA broke i didnt keep it top secret but i did keep it and the pics in the swamp at the time and i did the same thing here.i dont want to come across like the guy who beats a toilet with a CA or who puts a SK in the crack of a wall and then kicks it till it breaks and then posts it on bladeforums.

there's already enough speculation, guessing games,un-answered questions and mysteries of the universe that are floating around.here's something cut and dry.
i had a problem.SY is going to take care of me.

im just able to rest assured that if my scrapper 6 has any problems, i will be able to contact patti and dan via this amazing forum, my home online pretty much, and KNOW that they will give me a new one for the one that is defective if i should ever have any problems.... with that guarantee, how can you not be a follower till the end???

but yea, even a SY knife with a minutely chipped edge is still more apt to stay tough and save your life better than about any other blade i have ever heard of.. the busse's invented knife making the way it ought to be. and because of their awesome ways and incredulous product, all i use anymore are the busse family's line of knives...

rats and dogs are all i need
