The knife on the bottom is a carbon-steel Marbles Trailcraft. It has the same basic dimensions as the Hairy Carry (3-1/2" blade length, 7-3/4" overall length) and a somewhat similar blade shape IMO.
One point worth mentioning is, if you substituted the Hairy Carry for the Trailcraft, all three knives would cost the same (give or take a dollar).

Hard to compare the "STEAL" of a DEALS we got on those Marbles Trailcraft blades - eh Bruce?
But, it is unreasonable to compare it at $25.00. That was a Blowout rare situation. The non-stainless version apparently normally sell for closer to $50 or so (????)
**** If anyone is interested, I know of another place that has a handful of the "Fieldcraft" carbon steel versions for about $33.12. The Fieldscraft is similar to the Trailcraft, but a hair longer and a little more upswept. (* PM me if interested and I can direct whomever. I don't want to post that type of info.). I believe the steel is 0170-6 at 58Hc made in 2003 and now discontinued. I wish I had picked up a Sport, but missed. I did get a Trailcraft and a Plainsman. I have been modifying the blade shape a little on the Plainsman. I will probably consider some mods to the Trailcraft some day as well.
Anyway, I think I understand you on the price comparison. I don't feel the HC should cost as much as a DFCG or RMD.
On March 22nd, Eric said: "it is sure a sweet knife, and the price is just right".
In all fairness, "just right" price is a VERY subjective statement. No doubt many will be fine with the price.
I was initially set back a little by the price and I still am a little. I think the price should be closer to S$118.95.
But, if the design is JUST right, sometimes it is worth an extra $20.00 .... Although, I am still concerned about what appears to be a full spine length swedge. (A flaw I also consider to be had by the Trailcraft .... But, just my opinion.).
Nevertheless, I am sure I will have to get a HC. It appears to be a nice looking knife except for the apparent full length swedge (which isn't the biggest knock against the HC either.)
With a 3.5" blade, I would generally lean towards NOT having a choil, but it may still be fine and the choil design appears good. Preferrably, I need to handle it, but even some different angled pics might help.

Or better yet . . . a Scrap Yard Hairy Carry CG with a mudder handle for $69.95 plus shipping? [/QB]
I have no interest in a CG HC, unless it is WAY cheaper and I can strip it myself.
But, I would still be interested in more mudder gripped knives. Especially, an AD blade / mudder combo like the following SS3.5 Concept (free for Busse and kin use and free for different name!) ...... And "Especially" if SATIN!!! and around $69.95 :
* Honestly, for this type of blade and size, I would rather have something like the SS3.5 concept in 154CM than SR-77. (* Just my opinion.)
