Eric posted that about 1/3 of his Hairy Carry pre-orders have been completed and are on the way. He should have them by this weekend and will start sending emails to the first group late tomorrow: Good News regarding the Hairy Carry LE...The pre-Blade frenzy begins.

Woo Hoo!! I was in the first 1/3 -- payment made. I'd estimate Crestwood, KY (where Eric is) at less than 20 miles from my house, so I'll probably receive my order soon.

So with that short 3-1/2" 154 CM blade I guess you guys are going to pass on that SYKCO Mud Puppy with tan Respirine mudder grips! I'm thinkin' a hand full will be coming home from Blade with me. If I need a 4" blade I'll just whip out my Spydie Military! See ya at Blade!!!
If you're not pissed off you're not paying attention.

I'm waiting on the Mud Puppy price to determine how many I'll buy, but I expect it'll be at least three. I missed the SS4 release (the other mudder); I was new to BusseKin when they were sold, and thought it was WAY too expensive for a knife that size -- back then, I thought a 4-inch blade should cost about $30. By the time I became familiar with comparable blades, such as INFIcoots (which were rising quickly in the secondary market) and Meaners, and I realized how great a value the SS4s were, they were only available in the secondary market, where I bought one.
The most Scrap Yards I've bought of a single release was eleven, but I don't expect to do that again -- certainly not at this time, with so much being released for Blade. However, I also don't plan to look back at the Mud Puppy release and think, as I do with the SS4 and the Rat Trap, that I should have gotten more when the gettin' was good.

Jim I can relate on the SS4. That was my first real opportunity to get a Busse kin blade too, and timing and my reasoning (similar to yours) lead me to pass on it. I was happy to pay more later on the secondary market. I too am planning with a little more experience on the Mud Puppy.
And I love those Mudder handles too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

for some reason I like the shape/looks of the mud puppy better... and I don't think of scrapyards as the best looking blades but I just love the looks of it.
