Having owned and used 2-3 of their fixed blades (all in 1095) I am curious to knmow your thoughts on this one. Are their folders pretty sturdy? Imports?

BTW, this one is listed as plain edge/satin finished from www.bladematrix.com

Opinions? Thanks.

I don't own this folder but I would expect with the Ontario name that the quality would be decent. AUS-8 is not considered a high performance steel anymore but I have several AUS-8 knives and like the steel a lot for budget knives. My Camillus Heat is AUS-8 and has a very keen edge.

OUCH!
Thanks for the info, MRpink!

Well, at least I'm near the store that is offering them so I won't order one sight-unseen. That said, I've owned some very sturdy Taiwan-made CRK&T's and Benchmade's in the past.

No problem. Did you read the second thread as well?

I have heard good things about the original U.S. made ones, but heard nothing of the imported ones. So I don't know if it's well built or not, but just wanted to give you a heads up what's been going on with Ontario.

No worries. Looks like your question has been answered as well. I'll lock this one down and let it disappear! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
