First I want to thank you all for the warm welcome...the Yard is a great place to relaxe, learn and share. Next, I'd like to announce the arrival of the anxiously awaited DMLE, (all the way from Alaska) and a RMD (from Ohio). I picked these up over at the exchange just a few days ago and they both arrived in record time. I'm new at this but I'm going to try to post some pics. No tellin' how this could turn out. here they are... Another shot of the cousins... cousins... Ok, let's see if this worked...

Welcome to the yard, tango. Looks like you picked two of the best for starters. I can't figure out which one I prefer. Those are the two best 5" knives I have.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

CONGRATS! the Ratmandu is, according to my taste, the perfect wilderness/hiking/camping edc. It really can just do it all. That is a purchase you'll never regret. I've used and abused my heavily, and it came out just fine. If you need a sheath for it, i also HIGHLY recommend the Okuden kydex sheath that they sell on Swamp Rat store http://www.shop.ratknives.com/product.sc?categoryId=3&productId=117Rainwalker, here at the yard, also has a pattern so you won't have to ship the knife to him if you'd like a sheath.
Have you hugged your camp knife today?

Welcome to the Yard and congrats on your knives!!!!! You have two of the best as far as I am concerned. Abuse them and they will serve you well.

I'm grateful for all comments on these new knives. I posted these same questions over at The Swamp but hadn't gotten any replies yet.
I was wondering how many actually use thier LEs? I was hoping for a DMDC for a user but it looks like I may have been too late on that one. I could probably live with scuffing up the LE but how about you guys? Wadda'ya think?
Also while I'm at it, just how tuff is the RMD? It looks and feels like a primo piece of equipment but I swear I believe I can flex the blade in my two hands (not that this is necessarily a bad thing). I'm just trying to get educated on this knife. I love the way this knife feels in my hand...perfect balance, blade/handle angle, weight, everything...just curious. CloaknDagger, you seem to love this blade...I'm hoping to hear more.

I'm sure its a tough knife. VERY tough. I THINK it's diff. tempered, so that could be why you can flex it. others will have more to add, I don't know much about rats. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
