I intend to use mine. We will see how well the double cut finish holds up, because the DMDC is replacing my Urban Mutt as the user. Should fit in the same sheath ok.
As always, I'll be interested to hear the results of your tests, Vic. Of course, the Urban Mutt is coated and the DMDC is not. So the Urban Mutt should be less susceptible to corrosion. Do you plan to take any extra precautions to protect the double-cut finish when you start using your DMDC?

Just the standard Marine Tuf Cloth treatment. I figure that if it worked on my stripped ratmandu, it'll work on this. I'll leave my DMLEs alone for now.

Good news. Now you can look forward to taking lunch at Winchesters saloon in down the road in Delta OH. It is not great, but it is all that is generally going on. You will miss the Tex-Mex food. I still can't find good Tex-Mex food outside of Texas, or good authenic Mexican for that matter.

Just a few sheath questions:

1.) Will the small Spec Ops Sheath fit the DMDC?
2.) Opinion: Just wondering, seeing as I'm new to carrying fixed blades, is there any advantage to Kydex over what appears to be a standard sheath like the Spec Ops?

Just looking for a little input. I want to purchase a sheath and some of the makers in the Yard seem to make good stuff. I just don't know if one is better or more functional...etc. Sorry if these are noob questions, but I am a noob to the fixed blade.

The Spec Ops sheaths are large and bulky compared to a custom kydex or leather. This is fine for a large and bulky knife. The DM will fit the small SPec Ops sheath, it will handle up to 6" blades. But I prefer a more compact sheath for the DM.

The small Kydex offered by the yard will also fit the DMDC. This sheath was made for the "Busse Basic" handle. The handle on the DMDC my be a (very) tight fit. If you're good at remolding kydex that won't be a problem. Depending on how you'll use it a custom rig as Horndog mentioned may be your best bet. There are at least 4 custom makers on the forum. PM me if you'd like a list.

This just in. My wife called and my DMDC is sitting on my counter in my house. I will post pics later when I get home. I'm so stoked.
