Well, my parents came out for the weekend for easter and belated birthday celebration. They got me a new pair of dunham hiking boots, so decided to break them in by going up a mountain

lets start things out at the bottom

then in the general area

i found the side streams more interesting

after about an hour trek I got to the top (leaving my parents behind about half way up, they just couldnt make it)

I didnt have any dogs with me on the trip but a rat managed to stow away in my gear

Sorry about the lack of quality to the pictures. My step-dad had the good camera so I had to use my camera phone for all of these.

the new fancy kicks still look new and fancy!

as for the area, all isnt great. In the pic of the water, they are starting development in that area. The highway is actually running between the hills. It's a provincial park tho so most of the area should be ok

Wow!!! Amazing. Looks like a real good hike.

I'm with EMF. It's sad that such a beautiful scenic area is getting developed!

+1 on the dev.

My family has a place in a rural area like that, with no one around. Our property abuts land owned by the nature conservancy, so thats safe, but the land directly adjecent to our just got bought after being sold. They put a house on, cleared a lot of beautiful land along the riverbank to make a parking lot for their trailers, and they plan to clear more land near our house so they can make a dirt-biking course. For a family like mine, that tries to live in harmony and minimize our impact, it was all kinda like a kick in the nuts. It made me sick

+2!!! I have done things in the past of questionable legality, so I'm on board! I hate whent hey destroy places like this! So much destruction and little regard for the environment!

Rant over.

Great pics and thank you for the tour!!!!
