we've got lions out in the gorge, but the only sign I've seen of them are tracks and scent mounds in the snow
I'd never want to meet one in person though

you got brown bears too??? Yeah we do get Mountain Lions in the area. I have found their scat very close to where I took this hike but I have still to see a lion ! I guess there could be balck bears as I have heard that people have seen them in this general area, but I think they are mainly found a little further up Island.
