According to Trash Can (their tech guy), as of yesterday morning, the emails should be working.

It's obvious that this DMDC release hasn't gone off as intended. Dan has posted that he's aware that it's been a much longer than expected, and that anyone may cancel their order who wants to. Although I understand your frustration, I'd suggest that you calm down a bit and then decide what you want to do. If you decide to cancel your order, then just send the email.

I've got no authority to tell you what to do, but what you say and how you say it are the only way most people here will know you, so you may want to consider how your words reflect on you. Being part of the Scrap Yard community requires a bit of patience -- Scrap Yard is still a fairly young company that's trying different approaches to selling their products. There have been technical and communication issues, plus Blade is a big enough deal that they had to do something for it, which impacted the DMDC production schedule, but Dan will make the second batch. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, whether it's personal, business, or an online forum, you should probably avoid saying things in a way that may damage relationships; a little courtesy under adverse conditions doesn't cost you anything, but it tends to yield a positive return.

J37 - Dan is indeed the "original" moderator of this forum, but as the fledgeling business took off, he needed help with the forum so he could devote more time to making knives. That is why he asked ColdOne and me to act as moderators, freeing him up to attend to business. He tries to catch up on the forum whenever he can. I mentioned before that he is aware of the frustration of a few of our fellow Dogs and that he is working on it. Difficult as it is, please be a little more patient. Tom

If there is a canceled order I missed getting in on the DMDC and I would be more than happy
to take the spot of a cancelee and happily wait for my blade!

No seriously, if there IS open slots I want one and would love to wait!

Do you think I could e-mail Patti and see?

Peace.

It's not the fact that the order is delayed. They are a small business, Ok. They moved, fine. They had the blade show, understandable. They can't find the time to send out an email? Why do I have to lurk on message boards to get some half-a$$ status reports? At what stage in the production are they? How much longer do they expect it to be? These are things that should come from an employee of the company. I'm not trying to be inflammatory, just saying what I think.

PoP-

i canceled my order, so i know there is at least one spot.

i understand the frustration here. i asked patti directly for an update and was IGNORED as she answered other questions. in the same thread, dan answered other questions, and mine continued to be IGNORED.

NOT COOL

so i canceled.

I am waiting on my order from the 1st release. Maybe there are no more. I believe an update on availability would be appropriate.

I'm new to this forum, and from what I can see, this is a good group of people, and everyone tries really hard to get along with everyone else. This isn't exactly an antagonistic crowd, and I'm certain that any word would be readily received with open arms.

So I too, am puzzled as to why a company rep hasn't come on here with an explanation for the delay.

First post, the DMDC is going to be my first SY knife (got a handful of Busses and a few Rats)...I have to admit I've been through all the stages on this one...

1) Nervous as you hear the Hogs/Rats/Dogs shuffling around the trough as the time draws near
2) Panic when the hammer drops
3) Giddy as soon as you receive the confirmation
4) Anxious for a few days as you wait for your card to get dinged
5) Mildly disappointed when the package fails to arrive the next day
6) Confusion and self-doubt..."Did I do something wrong? Is this my fault?"
7) Growing bitterness turning to mild anger as you hear nothing.
8) Acceptance when you realize that "What will be will be". It is not for us to know WHEN, we must only KNOW we will be taken care of in the end
....
(hopefully soon...)
....

9) Enlightenment when the blades arrive and you realize they were worth the wait.

yeah, do what i do and wait with eager irritation.

if i wasn't a business student i wouldn't be so irate. had to plant that in the soil of philosophy, which was my undergrad major and made me an idealist. perfect storm.
