Anyone using a Spec Ops Combat Master for their DMDC? How's the fit?

I use a RAT-5 sheath for my Urban Mutt and it fits perfectly. Not a bad sheath for its price. Ron Athay

I'm using a spec ops sheath for my Ranger RD7, so point out that the Spec Ops sheaths seem to be made to fit 1/4 blades perfectly. From what I've seen with the ranger (also a 1/4" full flat blade), the DMDC should fit really well
But again, thats a theory. i haven't tried the DMDC in a s. ops sheath
Have you hugged your camp knife today?

I have one for my RMD and it fit perfectly after a little molding of the liner. On all Spec-ops sheaths, if the knife doesn't fit, just take out the liner and mold it to your liking. I think the Spec-ops come standard to fit quarter inch thick knives. Some people even go as far as this .

I'm using the Spec Ops. It's a little snug but not enough to hurt anything. Just don't try to put a DMCG in one.

i dont like how DM's fit in the spec-ops.i dont think the blade is wide enough imo.it will work but for me i dont think it works well.
something as small as a DM i put in kydex.i think thise spec-ops are by far the best nylon sheaths around but are better for larger knives like an rd-6,rd-7,YH,YG,S6 and stuff like that.
just thinking out loud.

spec ops sheaths are a step above in quality
if I didnt make sheaths myself for people and I couldnt get Rain to make me one, they would be high on my list

just thinking out loud. That's how my RMD fit when I first got it. It was too loose. I thought tightening the handle strap would set it straight but that didn't work. Then off to the kitchen!!!! I just used the furnace and heated up the thermoplastic lining and formed perfectly to the RMD. Now, my sheath has a perfect fit to the RMD. No side to side movement, no up and down movement, slight friction fit. Oddly enough, the friction fit seems to have no effect on the coating, just me and some batoning does, though. Course, I've also got an RW sheath that works when I'm in a hurry. If that DMDC doesn't fit too well, I highly suggest carefully heating up the lining and molding it. After that, you will love the hell out of the sheath. I did when I finally got my RMD to freakin' fit right. However, after I molded it, it only works with the right hip side. I've got a the lining pressed against the grind line. The knife will only go one way. Well, that did take care of the up and down movement. I really don't care and just love my Spec-ops. I might get another one for my FBM.

getting it to fit snuggly has never been a problem.i've heated most of me spec-ops sheaths,i have 6 or 7 at least.
i could get a gamewarden to fit snuggly also but it wouldnt br right and while not as extreme of an example i feel the same way about the DM.
for my own pesonal likings it is too much sheath for that knife.i consider the DM to be a smaller knife but when it comes to carrying it around, your knife is only aas small as the sheath it rides in.
i carry the DM when i want something smaller.if i'm going to put it in the same sheath as a rd-4 than i might as well carry the larger rd-4 because it all going to be the same on my hip while in a spec-ops sheath.
and while i dont like to admit it,i do have a little fashion quirk as far as knives go.my knife has to match its sheath.for example, all my tan micarta handles rangers are in coyote brown Spec-Ops sheaths.my tan and sage chopweiler is in a tan one and the DM jusr doesnt look right in their to me.it just looks too small.
i wish so bad that they would make both a smaller and larger version of these sheaths and i have even e-maile them a few times about this.
they are advertising a new shaeth although i havnt seen it on their web-site yet.
it is very simple.instead of the pouches on the front it just has some MOLLE/PALS webbing so you can attach the pouch of your choice.it would work real well for me with some of my flashlight pouches or a nice molle pouch i have for a GPS.
we'll be seeing a lot of them soon.

I get what you mean now, N1.
I agree completely. It feels really odd having a 3 inch blade in sheath for a 6-7 inch blade. Makes the knife look WAY bigger than it should. My RMD looks way to big when I placed it in my CSK sheath. Though the RMD looks real good in the Spec-ops.
The new Spec-Ops sheath is rather appealing. I hate how small the pouches on the survival sheaths are. I can barely fit a Griptilian in it. I'd much rather attach a large pouch where I could place everything I need.

yeah and the there is almost no size difference between the survival and combat master as far as the pouches are concerned.only difference is the survival is harder to get into and costs a lot more. i like the ability to attach my own pouches and it looks like they are at the web-site and for sale as we speak. here's a question for you....... did you ever see the Spec-Ops Brand ALICE Pack????? it looks like a Becker/Eagle Patrol Pack.i saw one at the last Syracuse gun show last september.i dont remember the cost,it was average. the thing is i have never seen it mentioned or pictured anywhere including Spec-Ops own web-site. if the same guy has another one i might have to grab it since it is the only one i know of in existance today....lol. i always figured they neede to make a bigger pack somewhere along the line. i also e-mailed them again begging them to make a sheath that will fit our longer, thicher fixed blade knives. it wouldnt hurt for all those interested to do the same also. questions@specopsbrand.comlet'em know. "if they build it,we will buy"
