i heard a guy over at the busse forum saying that he has worn most of the double-cut finish off one of his busses.

it got me thinking.i have never seen a pic of a really well used DC blade.

can the DC wear out???.......or should i say,"how does it wear down".

any experiences or pics would be great.i'm not worried about, just curious.

also,do you guys think their is any corrosion resistance difference between DC and satin finishes as minimal as the difference may be.

clearly i dont have much experience with either.i love my crinkle coats,it lets me show off the usage and makes'em look aged.you know when i blades got a lot of miles on it when you see all that coating worn out and it makes us proud

I'm pretty sure that DC coatings rust VERY easily compared to satin finishes, something about the pores opening up making it easy for deep corrosion.

I would think it gets lighter and lighter until it's gone as far as the wearing away goes.

DC, which is really just bead blast, shows scratches and wear more than a satin finish does. Thing is, you can just buff it out with scotchbrite and it will look fine. I have no problem at all with the DC finish. I have it on my ASH-1 SE. When it gets too messed up, I just buff it out and have a semi-satin finish.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

so it will wear off eventually.

yeah,i like how youR DMDC looks after the scotchbright,it looks good.not as shiney as an LE.

i like the DC and dont have any problems with it,i just dont have any experience with it.not like it matters because really its a moot point....finish aint what makes a DM.

LE is a satin finish, partially polished.
DC is double cut, a bead blasted finish

Sure can spot a 'newby'

I had been thinking it was all part of different terminology for the same thing depending whether it was a Busse, a Swamp Rat or a Scrap Yard!

Yikes, I'm now wondering what over wrong assumptions I've been making ...but I guess thats the upside of joining the various forums and getting the correct information; many thanks!!!

Love the leather sheath/tote combo. Can any custom sheath maker out there make me one of those?

Very funny, love the pic.

I want a green Man-purse-sheath with a scrapyard logo and some knotwork hehe... and an internal holster for a glock 35 and can't forget a few slots for extra mags... Now where can I get some matching shoes and a belt?
