Picked up a pair of my first knives from Scrap Yard knives, two dumster mutts. I love them and will be using them for everything outdoors. I also just discovered bladeforums.com and it seems nobody actually uses their Busse knives. Now i love collecting knives, i have a rather large Japanese chef knife collection. But every knife i own from 20 to 1000 dollars gets used and abused. It just seems funny to own a Busse combat knife and not use it. That just my two cents, plus i live in the sticks up here in VT. Anyone else have five feet of snow outside thier door. So much for the earth warming up.

I used my Dumpster Mutt many times already. I havn't really abused it yet, but if I need to pry, cut steel or break up concrete I wouldn't hesitate to do so after seeing the pictures here. It looks like they can handle the abuse.

I don't have any safe queens. All of my knives a purchased for use that's why I usually only buy CG. I hardly ever have the need to "abuse" a knife but it is nice to know I can with a Scrap Yard any not worry about.

I have safe queens... but only as backups for my favorite hard users.
so I guess the answer is Both, I use and save/oil, keeping replacements at the ready.

ok maybe not "abuse" but use them. I do have a rifle collection and most of them just hang on the wall. Maybe im just jealous of all those wonderful Busse family knives owned by everyone but me. Im just waiting for a yard guard or new scrapper.

I keep backups (some 3 deep) for almost all of my equipment. Scrap Yard Knives are so tough I didn't think I'd ever need a back up. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
