While one sometimes wonders if Busse blades are ever used on BF but then you have a lot of people there who buy them to trade or resell. Also most people take pics when they are new. Currently I've an unused Koster because I haven't had time to use it yet. My blades are used (not really abused) and every single scratch is a mark of honour.

yep! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> my DFLE is sooo scrathced and scuffed up. and there are quite a few dings and rolls in the edge. (from hitting nails and rocks and the tip going into the ground when chopping) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> but I LOVE IT! Thats odd, I have batoned through nails with my hook and it hasnt chipped. The edge became alittle blunted but thats understandable.

woah! chips are different than tiny nicks. but the DFLE does have a shaper thinner edge then the yardhook, so when I hit nails or rocks (I mean with full power swings when chopping) it can get a nick in the edge. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

You may be right but my pet peeve is seeing new knives layed out on a table( I'd rather see these than none at all) but to me the best pics are those showing a well used blade in a setting that it was designed for, forest, lake , field, campsite etc !!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I use my knives at every opportunity. I get rid of those that I don't use.

Inspired by this thread I took my hooker out for a good night on the town <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Chopped alot of branches down that were hanging over the drive. Dug through some oak. End result was a load more coating off the tip of the blade, cleaned her up and touched the edge up and shes good as new. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I use most of them.
