just sharing a picture of the Family blades I have so far...

Strong pack! that's a nice side-by-side on the RMD and BATAC. kinda makes me think I can live without an RMD(sure do like them though). How do you think the 2 compare?

The RMD is not as thick nor as heavy as the BATAC....I could not decide which one to own so I picked up the RMD 1st. and the BATAC still haunted me ,so I saved my $$ and waited for a Green BATAC . Both blades are awesome...just General hiking/ camping/ fishing activities the RMD just because of the weight issue...either one is a winner !

darkaether, If I had to choose between the RMD and the BATAC, I'd have to choose the RMD too. Although I have both and like both, I like the RMD just a little better overall, just my 2 cents worth. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

aahhh... hehe... how about CG ASH-1 vs BATAC vs RMD? They're all 5"-6", and just to complicate it a little more, I think I would probably like a camp tramp more than an ASH-1.

The RMD definitely seems like a more efficient design than the BATAC.

Here is a tough question for you, If you had to get rid of all of them except one and that one would have to be your only user for the rest of your hiking/camping life which would you keep ?

I love the OD blades. I'd love to see some OD or sage from the yard too. Took me a sec to notice everything but your SR-77 is OD.

Thank you Guys , The Batac was the hardest one for me to aquire due to it's cost and my Budget on blades...+ I wanted a green one and would not settle for any other color..The scales whether standard or G10 was not a issue....but I love the Greeen coating !!

I wouldn't really put the CG ASH-1 in the same category with the RMD, they are quite different.

If I was going to compare the CG ASH-1 to a Swamp Rat blade the Chopweiler or the Camp Tramp is probably a close comparison, IMHO. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
