It's been my experience that if you heat up the blade by running very hot water on it, the vinegar etching is even more pronounced.

Hey brian(or anyone else who knows) what kind of knife is that? Also, would the mustard patina look about the same on SR-77?

that would take alot of layers and repeating, but I think so. (I'm not sure though)
at first, a mustard patina is just some ugly grey blatches, i guess after alot of layer it gets as good looking as brians.
