I've been hesitant to mention it because the quantity available is, in Jerry's words, "VERY Limited" and I don't need any more competition than I already have. However, in the end, I decided that I hope someone would pass along the info if I'd missed it: "Embrace The Suck" This Saturday (4-5-08) Special Mil. Overrun!!!!!!** I changed the thread title from "for today" to "(4/5/08)" since the offer is over now.

That's a great looking knife and a great cause, but sounds expensive!

If anybody can proxy me on this and its $350 or less, I'd appreciate it. I'll be at work and they're really cracking down on non-work-related internet use I can get a money order or paypal +%

The SJTAC is a very useful blade size/shape.
Plus a small portion of each sale goes to help some soldiers in harms way.
The original CG SJTACs sold for $247 in 2005. Tonite they're selling for $267 each. That's less than a 10% premium over the original release AND Jerry's sharing some of the money with the soldiers. This is a VERY good deal

darkaether, I'll contact you when I find out whether I'll get my ganza request; I asked for an extre one, but if you change your mind, it won't be a problem for me to have an extra. I was one of the first to send my email, but as somebody else noted, it's the order they're received not that they're sent, so there's always some degree of uncertainty.

So this was by e-mail then. Go figure.
I sat on the refresh page button for an hour and some last night - watching the knives on the 'order' page of Jerry's site. I should have asked how these things went - always follow instructions, right?
Not that I wanted it for myself...... my best friend's boy is going to graduate jump school here soon, and thought that'd be just THE knife for a young troop to depend on during his deployments.
A bunch better than what I used - the 80's were all about the Gerber MkII, remember? At least it was until I did my first solo survival drop with it - it's been unused in the knife drawer ever since.

Thanks Jim! I'll definitely take one if you get them. I work nights so if there's ever a daytime release you can't make, I can most likely cover it.

That's the standard Busse 'ganza process:
***** Jerry posts the specific instructions on the "Busse Combat Knives" sub-forum at bladeforums.com; sometimes several days in advance, other times not so much.
At some point in the appointed time range, he'll post a "GO...GO...GO..." thread (they aren't kidding about some people trying to spoof the GO thread either, it's got to be by "Jerry Busse", not "Jerry_Busse", "Jerry 8usse", "Jerry Buse" or any other spelling variant).
You jump over to the email that you composed before the time span started, and send it as soon as possible after the GO post.
Amy will allocate knives to requests in the order that emails are received.
If sufficient quantities of knives are available for her to process your request, they'll use your email's contact information to call or email you in order to arrange payment.
Once payment is received, they'll send your package to the mailing address you provided. *****
For whatever it's worth, if historical patterns holds true, there'll be a "Knob Creek" 'ganza after next weekend using that same process. I don't expect them to have SJTAKs, but they'll certainly have other good stuff.

Bravo762, it just occurred to me that you might send an email explaining the situation. I've heard that Jerry and the crew can sometimes make things happen above and beyond the norm to help out active duty personnel.
