i've been diving for gloves while chopping/batoning lately and decided to do a handle wrap on my chopweiler... my first wrap, ever. please let me know what you think. i think it could be tighter, but it seems like it'll hold. i wet the paracord first to really try and tighten it down. at any rate, there are some pix below, and i would love it if some of you all would post pictures of your handle wraps as well as any advice, tips, pointers for us newbies.

Looks real good.

Better than what I could do.

Mines plain and ugly looking.

You might also like trying just half of the handle.

I think it's slightly better for chopping. But the fusion handles are kind of just... perfection on full tang knives with handle slabs.

I wrapped my skelly warden a few different ways yesterday and I never liked it better than leaving her nekkid. I think you'll have a really hard time with the SD keeping it tight and uniform because of all the curves. I also don't see what you would gain anyway, but it would probably be fun to play with.

The best knives to put paracord wraps are skellies.

With all the holes in the SD you could definitely get a good wrap. If I can wrap my Griptilian, then you should definitely be able to wrap the SD. I mean, I've wrapped my CBK (freaking pain!!!) and it is the coolest PD and very comfortable.

You'd probably be able to also wrap the ring and do a strider style wrap. It would insanely comfortable. The only reason I'd get a skellie is to have the fun wrapping it with some paracord and then using it. For some reason, wrapping knives with cord is fun... so is making lanyards, and etc, etc, etc.

Sharp - you should get a Busse SD not just for wrapping it but for a great back up blade. They make for about as good a EDC blade as i have ever seen. You can carry this thing and it has good cutting power. I also like the fact that you can get a death grip on this piece of INFI. oh yea, and it is made of the BEST - INFI!!!! I am more into small little knives you can strap on and go out in the urban jungle with. The big pieces are great but I have no use for them everyday in the urban terrain... So what did I do, went and bought ANOTHER scotch dispenser .. All Im saying is ya outta it out.

As for wrapping the skelly - Im afraid I will mess it up! But then again I guess if you mess up you can always take it off, huh.

Not the best shots of the wraps themselves, but...

I've since redone this one, but don't have a new picture...

Same technique as on the DFLE above...

I really like the ringbolt hitching like on the YK. I have fairly big hands, so it feels as good as it (trust me) looks. I'll get a new photo up this weekend.

nice wraps, mtrspeed

the top one reminds of when i played roller hockey as a kid. we would take a shoestring and wrap it around the handle of our sticks before taping them to give it extra grip.
