I wanted to post over here on the scrapyard forum, so I could get some of your input. I recently acquired a scrapper 6 from a balde forums member. I have used it very little. I was doing some batoning this weekend and the res-C handle split at the top. I have since emailed PATTI @ scrapyard knives about this. By no means am I complaining about the knife, I absolutely love it. I am just trying to see how common this is. I never hit the handle directly, cause im sure this question will arise. Th e1st picture was a few weekends ago.

Welcome madborderman07. That is unusual for the handle to split like that, especially since you didn't hit the handle directly. I have had to beat on the handles occassionally to unstick a knife from wood I was spitting. It scuffed them up a bit, but no serious damage. I'm sure SYKCO will make it right. BTW, looks like near Okeefenokee Swamp in your first picture.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Welcome to the Yard madborderman07. As the rest have said, that's not common. You are in good hands with Patti.

Welcome to the Yard, madborderman07. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've never had any problems with any of mine, nor have I ever heard of anyone else having that happen. I have hammered on the back of my S6's handle some with a hammer stick, but not even enough to really scuff it yet.

I was really impressed at how well the handles held up in Noss's tests.

Have fun with that DMLE. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
