welcome to the yard! I've beat on my handles alot and never have had any problems. as the others have said, I'm sure patti and Dan will make it right... then you can really beat on it!

Save yourself the wait and repair it with a lighter.
Welcome.

lol, mac, this looks to be a bit bigger than a "reshape the res-c after heating it up with a lighter" job.
welcome aboard madborderman

It doesnt like that deep of a crack, a lighter might do it.
Thats what I would do.

have you ever tried doing it with a lighter before mac? it doesn't sound very easy, unless its more frayed and stuff. (and even then I doubt it's the easiest thing) and it could do that again couldn't it? I think a repair is in order.

I have had to repair my hooks handle many times, not like that but it wouldnt be hard.. I have my hooks handle wraped in 113lb catfish drop line right now which is part of a series of modifications to the blade that I will post later.

I've never seen that happen before.
Good job giving the knife the beating of its life.
And, of course, welcome to The Yard.

I have had to beat on the handles occassionally to unstick a knife from wood I was spitting. It scuffed them up a bit, but no serious damage. When I inquired at the Swamp for suggestions on how to get my knife unstuck without beating on the res-c with a baton and damaging it, Warren suggested using your shoe to kick at it, or first wrap the handle with a towel or article of clothing to prevent damage before using the baton on the handle. have you ever tried doing it with a lighter before mac? it doesn't sound very easy, unless its more frayed and stuff. (and even then I doubt it's the easiest thing) ![[Linked Image from i6.photobucket.com]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/andywayne/Knives/Swamp%20Rat/Others%20Pics/flaming_rat.jpg)
