Boy, great story HD. I'd love to try a course like that. Sounds like you have some terrific compass skills.

The mosquitos started to get pretty bad just as we were coming back, but the repellant worked well, northern1. When I was younger, I might have been more like Dundee....125 lbs ago. I used to hunt wild boars down there, but got tired of the endless harassment by the DNR as I went in or came out, so I quit buying the WMA stamps. Only saw one fisherman yesterday as he was putting his boat in at Scrub Lake. Saw lots of pig trails. No gators or big snakes (wildlife runs in fear as I enter the swamp). This area is only a mile or so from where Survivorman was dropped off.
Jerry, I'd love to see the Osceola Forest. We ARE in the same neck of the woods. This was Florida until the Battle of Bloody Marsh, or at least it was claimed by Spain.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Looks like a great hike and those are some great pics too. Looks like navigating could be a real challenge there as well. You did good. That DFLE makes you look like the king of the swamp. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

This is a GREAT thread Vic. Love the photos.
Even though I have seen that Rainwalker sheath before, I still can't get over it. It is just amazing, and I don't know what else to say about it. I couldn't be more impressed.
It looks like you are back in favor with at least one of da yoots, eh? What does she think of that YKLE?

It looks like you are back in favor with at least one of da yoots, eh? What does she think of that YKLE? The rainwalker sheath rides nice and low, easy to access. Later, I removed the leg tie, and just let it dangle. It carries well. I am very pleased with both the knife and the sheath. Both Bonnie and Linda got new YKLEs after Blade. Bonnie likes the feel of the res c handle. She is still living with her aunt, but wanted to visit me and I was so pleased that she enjoyed the swamp hike. When Linda visited, she just wanted to go to the mall......ugh! I never said I was cut out raise girls, but I did the best I could.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Vic, You're more than welcome anytime. I'm trying to get caught up on my responsibilities around here. Once I do, maybe you can come down for a pig roast, or at the very least some ribs and beer.
