I used to think that there should be a restriction on how many knives could be bought. I have since changed my mind because if it wasn't for people such as forum member ksjumpmd buying muliples of certain knives then I would not have got two of mine.I will also add that he sold them to me at cost,he may even have left himself out of pocket slightly. So for every " bad apple " that rips people off there is a good guy such as ksjumpmd that gives those of us, who maybe could not afford to buy at the time of release, another chance !!!

ksjumpmd is no doubt an awesome JYD!
And in all fairness, there are some other GREAT JYD's around here who go way out of their way to help as well. But, while that type of extended and awesome generosity is very helpfull to some of us with Scrap Yard knives, it doesn't always help in other scenarios with other Busse and kin stuff.
I am just generally speaking and I still feel Pre-Orders would help ease a lot of the problems off the regulars without putting any limitations on purchase numbers.
ksjumpmd and others can still buy multiples and help out others down the line.
And Investors can still buy multiples and sell for profit - DOWN the LINE.
But, pre-ordering would help elimate regulars being scalped.

2 weeks seems pretty fast for pre-ordering.2-5 months has been bsse's track record with pre-ordering and with dan in the same family and shop why would it be any different.we will see with the hairy carrys.
its the fact that the supply is no where near the demand that makes this after market so unique.
usually a knife that has been used is sold for less than original cost.people beat the hell out of their knife, get a whole bunch of mileage out of them and then sell them for more than original cost.where else do you find that?
so if things werent the way they are now their wouldnt be an after market like this which is both good and bad.
at first the whole thing annoyed me which i think is normal.how many time have we seen a new guy come around and ask why he cant by a dumpstermutt from the scrapyard site.i got over it.i dont care anymore.
at the end of the day this is what makes busse lengendary weather convenient to us or not.jerry knows this and it is why he does this.
if he ran his company and sold knives the same way as the "other guys" than he would just be like the "other guys" regardless of quality.just another company with good knives.

I learned alot that thread. fun fun fun!
...
I never was really mad that I couldn't order the knives I wanted... it's a good way to learn to save money, for me (and become stingy and cheap!) annnnnd I always thought it was pretty cool. It's obvious not everyone feels that way though and I know that.

Most of them get a kick out of the chaos because they are profiteering. Most of these issues are with Busse/INFI. Many of the Hogs promote the hype for self gain and their profiteering. Knifeguy, when you make statements like this without presenting one shred of evidence, it just pisses me off. I really enjoy your posts on the topic of knives but this is completely unacceptable to me. Please vent your frustration somewhere else.

Guys the system is what it is. Love it or hate it, it is what we have.
Slamming those who try and use the system is not called for.
The increase again in posts complaining about pricing, supply and sales methods are not needed. If you want to carry on with it I recommend Whine and Cheese on bladeforums.com
What is being posted does not work as constructive criticism. If it continues, individuals will start receiving private warnings and we will go from there.
The Yard has brought us 16 knives all at an amazing price point for the product, performance and service we receive.
JYD#10 Blade '08 - I challenge coined Dan Busse and WON! Blade '10 - The score is now 2-0!

A huge +1 !!!
At a time when big companies like Camillus have "gone under", the Busse Group is expanding. Obviously they are doing something right, and not going overseas and maintaining tight control is working not only for them but all of us as well. Appreciate them for what they ARE, not necessarily what some of us might LIKE them to be!! It's hard to argue with their success, as we ALL gain in product, warranty, service, and price! That's why we keep coming back for more! Tom
