Most of them get a kick out of the chaos because they are profiteering. Most of these issues are with Busse/INFI.
Many of the Hogs promote the hype for self gain and their profiteering.

Knifeguy, when you make statements like this without presenting one shred of evidence, it just pisses me off. I really enjoy your posts on the topic of knives but this is completely unacceptable to me. Please vent your frustration somewhere else.

Kraz,

I am surprised anyone finds pointing out the obvious practice of profiteering so touchy. Profiteering with Busse and kin knives is an obvious fact.
Many Hogs are not so shy about it. They gloat with pictures of hords of duplicate pieces of INFI (or other Busse kin blades). Is this not getting a kick out of the chaos when many others missed out?
And "SOME" of these same guys eventually get around to posting their hords on the trade forums for jacked up pricing. If they bought hords of knives knowing many others missed out and then post them for sale (often quickly) on the secondary market at jacked up prices, is this not profiteering?
There are gray areas between investing and profiteering. But, I have my opinions on the differences.

I don't feel I should provide specific examples because I would have to point directly to specific Bladeforum members who are very active on Busse forums and on the trade forums. It is posted there and can be seen for those interested.

No, it is not technically a crime and it happens all over our society. I just think it is a shame to do this intentionally to people around here and related forums and then call each other buddy or brother. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

And YES, I realize there are some INCREDIBLE good JYD's around this particular forum who go WAY out of their way for each other. I am not critiquing this group so much. But, certain other groups come here and buy knives in a way that cuts out certain regulars here.

I do believe a pre-order system would help eliminate many issues. Swamp Rat is currently doing it on the HC and it has been done in the past, so I am not coming up with a totally new concept for Busse and kin. I am just trying to encourage a practice that I consider better for most of the regulars here.
I am not sure I understand how this aspect of what I am suggesting is debatable.

My intent is to try to help - even if just by suggesting.
In the end, I know it will be whatever Jerry and Dan want it to be for whatever their reasons are.

I didn't/don't view profiteering as a secret. But, no doubt, those who do it don't like to admit it. Some of them seem to get defensive about it.

Well if "a couple of days" is accurate, then we should have news today.

I'm sure plenty of you guys love the suspense, but I for one would like a bit more of a heads up.

First off, there should be a sticky thread where moderators announce the next model. Just the moderators (to avoid clutter). As is I have to search the whole forum once a week just to find out if anything is coming close to release.

Then you spend all this time being ready for the release of, something.
If we knew what it was before hand, I'd know whether or not it's worth while to camp the website.

Just some ideas.

Edit: and I'd love it if this were the S7, I've been wanting one of those for a while.
