Here’s a pic I already have of me with my CS City Stick. They retail for like $100, but I got mine on eBay from WholesaleHunter for $40. When I want a lightweight one, I sometimes use one of those hollow aluminum adjustable type like old people use that they sell at Walmart in the pharmacy department for $10-$15. I got mine at Goodwill for $4 though. I have a few others, but I use these two most. I’d like to make a custom one out of a solid bar of aluminum or something sometime. My Dad has a lathe, so we could do it. I thought it would be neat to make something like the Crawford Survival Staff or something.

Nice picture Andy! I have the CS sword cane myself and I like the S/S head on it. I also have 4' and 6' white waxwood staffs which I stained walnut color and sealed. Sorry, no pictures.

Thanks. I’ve been wanting the sword one myself, but I haven’t found one cheap enough yet. I’d also like to get the plastic African walking stick and the plastic Irish walking stick for times that I wouldn’t want to risk damaging my City Stick through hard use etc. I’ve heard that the wax wood is strong, but I’ve never used it myself yet.

Great stuff!!

I've got one of those cheap home made jobs that a guy sells on ebay. It has 4 or 5 tubes in it. The stuff it comes with isn't great, so I took everything out and put better stuff in there. I've only hiked with it once though and I don't have any pics.

I've considered one of those CS sword canes they look pretty nice. I've come real close a couple of times to buying one of Mr. Crawfords canes, but I've always decided to think about it some more and then changed my mind.

Just got done finishing the final paint job. Ill try and have pics up in a hour after it dries. Ill list what i used on my next post.

This is my first time doing something like this. My friend thought i was crazy when he seen me working on it. He quickly change his mind after he seen the finshed project.

Now he wants one LOL. I think it came out pretty good for a first atempt.

Here it what i used:

- Bought a replacement handle for a sledgehammer.

- Bought some OD and flat black spray paint.

- Wraped the handle with some OD 550 cord.

Everything cost about 12 bucks.

There is a small problem tho , The stick is about a foot to short but its not too bad.

Great job on the staff L4D.

There's gotta be a good way you could add to it's length if you wanted to.

My walking sticks are just.....sticks. Some are oak, gum, swamp juniper, and my favorite is a mountain laurel I got up at Wildcat Creek in North Georgia back in the 1970s. None of them are straight.

I have one, its not fancy.

Its oak and pretty much looks like Vics.

Useful though, better than losing your balance with a heavy pack.
