Well, summer is here and it’s beautiful outside. However, until my 3 year old daughter is a bit older, full on camping will have to wait. Though, nothing wrong with a bit of day hiking. This was taken Saturday when the 2 of us went out for the day. I’ve been many places – South Africa, South America, Middle East and I tell you, there’s something very special about the North American woods, something of a cathedral quality that’s difficult to explain. I just love it out there and so does she.

The Dumpster Mutt carries very easily on the waist belt of the carry pack I use to carry my daughter and the few hikers we encountered didn’t even notice – very inconspicuous knife to carry. You can see the knife in its’ homemade sheath on the second last picture. Talking about sheaths – when we returned that evening I was pleasantly surprised to find my Rainwalker Kydex sheath waiting for me. Thanks Jeff, great sheath and even got a lanyard as an add on. Can’t wait to test it out next weekend.

Anyway, here are the pics:

Very pretty woods, Gideon. I used to take my little ones for hikes in the mountain forests and swamps. My oldest, who is now 36 is still an avid hiker, camper, and outdoor girl. Thanks for the pics. Your little one looks happy.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
