Mag - you and Jeff aren't the only ones happy with the SAR5 - I sure love mine! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I still haven't heard specifics about why Jerry disliked the SAR5 so much. Not that I'm complaining; he priced them to move, and I was happy to oblige. It's certainly not a typical Busse design, but I like 'em,

I just received mine today and it's quickly climbing the charts as one of my favorite Busse's.

Hey Luckee - good to see your pooch and bowl again! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> You should hang around here more often. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm VERY pleased with the SAR5, Jerry was too hard on it.

I mic'd the three I got (Black/Green G10, Black Micarta, Tan Micarta) and the tan micarta scales were the slimmest and that knife the lightest... that's the one I'm keeping.

I had the good fortune of handling both at Knob, although there was no micarta ones left for sale. I was surprised at the difference in weight. I'm happy with the G-10 one that I got, but I have to admit, if there had been a micarta version still available, I probably would have gotten one of those instead. Or maybe both. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" />
