Help!
I changed the water in my fishtank yesterday, and bought a new filter unit.
My ever-helpful wife did not bother rinsing out the carbon filter before installing it, so the water is grey with carbon.
Any idea how I can remove the carbon? I have not a clue.

I wish I could help, Roo. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

I gave up on Fish tanks, several years ago. I do good just to get my pool into shape once a year. I just opened it and it's OD Green and almost opaque, it's gunna take some work to get it in shape, I should'a opened it a few weeks back. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />

Good luck. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

Stupid filter. Dopey wife.
I feel bad for the fish. Two of them are new, so they gotta really be hating their new digs.

I have done this same thing before, and usually the carbon will work its way out of the water. Shouldnt bother the fish to much. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advise. What I did is change out half the water, and hopefully the rest will filter through or settle to the bottom.
Thanks, madborderman07 and Stihlblade.
I was worried we would kill the fish. They seem happy enough, cavorting about in there.
