yeah, it'd be great to just destroy some stuff with it, and you always could wrap the handles.
(if you can find one)

well, the DMDC, or DMLE has bigger handles than the CG and arn't that bad...
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
but I here the CG handles are just tiny!!!!

This isn't true. The DMCG and DMDC handles are very close in size. The DMDC handle is just slightly fuller due to the lack of gripper cutouts on the forward portion of the handle and it's maybe 1/8" longer. They are very close in size.

I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

The DMCG and DMDC handles are nearly identical in size. The way you are describing them makes them sound quite different..they're not. The differences in the handles are slight but the differences in weight and balance are significant because of the different blade thicknesses. I'll post pics tomorrow.

it fits big paws, of course it's not a Mudder handle or Ranger handle but it fits good enough Sam. The DM is such a great blade bro (I'm Dantor over there) it's so worth it! Tough is it's middle name and it's not like you'll lose any moola getting it! I took some comparison shots so you can see it next to the RD7;

I’ve said this before. The difference between the basic handle on the DMCG and the standard yard handle on the YKCG are so small that it’s hard to see the difference, just eyeballing against a tape measure. But my hands like the standard handle better than the basic handle. Both of them are too small for me. But I can easily live with the standard handle. The basic handle really feels too small for me.

Ahhhhh now I see, it should be no problem. (Kinda hoping it is too small now, so I can wrap it in orange paracord ala Pitdog though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ) Thanks for all the pics and help guys! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

+1

I have compared the two many times and visually it was hard to find any differences, but I could always feel a difference.

Then, I think I noticed the guard at the front of the basic handles is more square. So, I think that squareness is what confines the hand.

I have found the Res-C can be shaped by sanding. I rounded the guard of mine.

See: Modifying & Reshaping Res-C

.

Implume, no one is arguing that the small differences won't matter to some folks. Yes, the basic handle is a tiny bit narrower and shorter.
I posted because I'm concerned that the positioning of the handle differences in general might be misinterpreted, that one is somehow "big" and the other "small".

Here's a couple photos that might help folks understand just how subtle the differences are.

From left to right:
DMLE, Urban Mutt, CGDM, DMDC, CGYK, YKLE

And here's the spine shots. I put my S6LE in at the far right to contrast between small and "big". Note that even among the various blade types there are small differences in the handles.

Kraz:

That’s exactly my point. It’s not that the basic handle is small and the standard handle is bigger. They are both about the same size. But subtle differences in the shape of the two handles make a difference that…well…makes a difference.
