i think i saw the comp blades for about $287

Darn, that was what Hell Razors were new when they were the production model. I was hoping the Comp finish would make them more affordable.

Thanks for the pictures! I'm really liking all the prototypes. That means more waiting... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Jeff, are the competition knives really cheaper then the original counterpart?

That's the way I understand things, the Competition Grade is supposed to be a little cheaper.

Sounds like the difference between CG and Coated CG (That's going to get confusing at so point <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> ) might be more substantial than I would have thought. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I really wonder if we'll see it very much though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I wonder if there will be a Competition Grade SARsquatch? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

You got that right, Jeff. CG normally stands for Combat Grade. And that usually means a coated blade. We've got to come up with a way of distinguishing between Combat Grade and Competition Grade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

And I guess I'm a little confused. I was under the impression that a coated Competition Grade knife IS a Combat Grade knife. If there's a difference between them, what is it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Jerry had asked the guys over at BF and probably on the BC forum as well if they would be interested in a slightly cheaper unfinished uncoated blade. It might be considered "Test Grade" because he said the blades were in basicly the same state in which they do testing. Somebody else may know more and can elaborate on Competition Grade.

One other interesting thing that I like about these blades is that they have a nice convex ground edge. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could scream for longer but sadly, I can't. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Those look so nice. I really wish they'll have them at Blade West. The convex ground is so well done. Plus I wouldn't have to worry about coating or the finish getting scratched if I use it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I hope the entire Busse Family start making more knives in Comp Finish.

Right... why don't we call CCG = Coated Combat Grade and CG = Competition Grade. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

TG = Comp Grade (Test Grade) and CG = Combat Grade, works too.

the difference is supposed to be the lack of a coat and a mirror polished convex edge. it looks like the jack hammer has it, but the hell razor's seems less refined by comparison. could just be the lighting.

+1 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I guess Jerry decided that the effort to put a worthwhile edge on the knife was about equal to the price/cost of spraying gunk on the blades. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

The Mud Razors were $247.00!!!!! - I would MUCH rather have a Mud Razor at $247.00 AND without CBT. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> - Those CBT lines don't look very good to me and are probably a NIGHTMARE to make look decent when stripped.

I was hoping to score a decent deal/price closer to $247 on some variation of a Razor to hopefully "even" trade for a Mud Razor. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

But, I waited to the last minute and didn't arrange proxy properly in advance.

But, Jerry didn't post prices in advance, so I had no idea what to expect. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Plus, when the show is spread over 3 days and knives are released at unknown times over 3 days, it is hard for people who attend the show to even get what they want, let alone trying to arrange proxy purchases. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I hope Jerry releases some SARSquatches at competitive prices and I would love to see another run of Mud Razors at $247.00 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />

i dont know

This was true for the Razorganzaaaa

See: Razorganzaaaaaa Pricing

Those were both G-10 versions. But, at $55.00 More for G10 than the standard release micarta Hell Razors that were $287. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> - Big price increase for G10 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
..... and $95.00 more than the Mud Razor which I would prefer that was sold at $247.00....

I saw the Razorganzaaaa, but I had to pass as I didn't want to pay $342 for a G10 Hell Razor.

I was hoping for a $247.00 Mud Razor, but no dice..... again....

I wish I hadn't missed the Mud Razor... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />
