Jeff,
Great pics! Thanks for taking the time to snap some photos and post them. I know there are many places to spend your time at the show so these pix are most appreciated

i think i saw the comp blades for about $287

Darn, that was what Hell Razors were new when they were the production model. I was hoping the Comp finish would make them more affordable.

+1

I guess Jerry decided that the effort to put a worthwhile edge on the knife was about equal to the price/cost of spraying gunk on the blades.

The Mud Razors were $247.00!!!!! - I would MUCH rather have a Mud Razor at $247.00 AND without CBT. - Those CBT lines don't look very good to me and are probably a NIGHTMARE to make look decent when stripped.

I was hoping to score a decent deal/price closer to $247 on some variation of a Razor to hopefully "even" trade for a Mud Razor.

But, I waited to the last minute and didn't arrange proxy properly in advance.

But, Jerry didn't post prices in advance, so I had no idea what to expect.

Plus, when the show is spread over 3 days and knives are released at unknown times over 3 days, it is hard for people who attend the show to even get what they want, let alone trying to arrange proxy purchases.

I hope Jerry releases some SARSquatches at competitive prices and I would love to see another run of Mud Razors at $247.00

.

I agree. I am severly disappointed about that price point. I would have liked to see the Competition Hell Razors in the lower $200 zone.

Well with Chopweilers selling at and slightly above $200, I wouldn't expect 6.5" - 7.5" bladed Busse/INFI knives too close to $200.

But, I WAS "hoping" for around $247 or so. And out of impulse, I would have agreed to $267 or so if I could have worked out a proxy. But, I couldn't work out a proxy arrangement in time.

Even at $247, if you pay tax and have to pay shipping, you start getting to around $280 or so. $267 starts getting close to $300 to your door.

..... They ARE "Ugly". - Even Jerry says so.

I still don't like CBT.

I was hoping to use a decent priced Comp grade HR to trade for a non-CBT Mud Razor.

Any way you slice it, for me personally, I would have to clean mine up and still put a lot of finish out project work into it anyway including removing and re-attaching scales to satin finish the blade properly and do it right (competition or coated blade). So, I can't justify paying "Too" much if I feel I need to do so much to "Finish" it.

And I already have a highly modified/customized SJTAC that I love.

If Jerry does a Miniganzaaa with some $247 Mud Razors again, I am interested. Otherwise..... I am not so sure.

Of course the "Dream" solution would be to be able to buy all of my knives from Busse with satin finish at reasonable prices.
A "Factory" satin Mud Razor for $247.00

I still can't understand how most every other knife-maker including Scrap Yard and Swamp Rat can sell properly satin finished blades for reasonable prices. But, a decent satin finished piece of INFI goes for about $200++++ over an already expensive CG piece of INFI.

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

those are still way better than secondary market prices. I just had to have one in a moment of affliction and grabbed a sage/od tan G10. It cost me a bundle but no regrets. Its still easily one of my 3 favorite blades not counting AK/Rucks. I actually like the aesthetics of the CBT...... but I like the crinkle too. especially in desert olive.

I like the mud razors too though. how could you not?

idk though, I would feel bad selling all my rangers though...
but I might just have to.
even then I'd still have to save some, but I think it'd be worht it.

I'm liking the looks of the SARSquatch...
it seriously looks perfect for a "camp" style knife.
thin, convex grind, and I can see they didn't overlook any details in the blade... they even didn't grind down the choil area so it's more comfortable.

I NEEED ONE.
(and an s7 too)

I thought you said you didnt see the point of thin grinds.

The comp HR's are on the top of my list.

I really like the looks of that handle with the hammer butt, wish the BATAC had that.

If your talking about the numbers I kept on the MP & BD, I think I'll wait a while...

It's nice to have numbered pieces I guess, but it does cause it's own set of issues and although I didn't get my numbers, I did try to be fair to myself too. After all I did work pretty hard to get all of them.

Neither of the numbers I kept involved any of my proxies, so I can feel pretty good about them I guess.

If someone winds up with 35 and lets me know privately then I'd probably have more interest in that number and be willing to talk trade. Somehow I dought things will work out that simply so for now I'll be content.

I was wondering more about the INFI, if they are for you or proxy. The numbers don't interest me at all. They just make me feel a little more guilty when I violate their pristine condition. for the same amount of money I'd rather have one that didn't have a number. That way I wouldn't feel like I was doing something that could never be undone when I used it. I really do like all of them though.

I understand now. Well aside from one MPLE and one BDLE, I knew I'd need the SARsquatch, and I thought I might need the Nuclear EDC (we'll see, not sure if that's going to be a new CG model yet but I thought it might be). The Jack Hammer I wasn't quite so sure weather I needed it for patterning or not ( because it's probably limited ). I got it as much because I wanted it too. That's kinda my Blade show 08 prize.

I was really glad to get the HR for another dog, because it will give me the opportunity to make a pattern for leather. But it will head towards it's new home soon.

uhhh... I said thin and grind seperatley you know.
it's thin... but not too thin. (3/16 isn't bad)
and if I did say that, idk. (I know I kind of did)
I think I said it sometime when I was talking about the grip maybe, but obviously if the heat treat and steel is right a knife can handle it. (unlike the grip)remember I even batoned with my blur to prove that a thin hollow grind can do more than slice if done right?

you'll get over the thick blade obsession. i guess all the him imps and the fat mistress filled that void for me. thinner is better. i thought the mud puppy shoulda been thinner. you still have no mora, eh?
