I received a cool pair of tac glasses from fellow dog and all around great guy
BananaClip. They are a pair of military issue Sawflys with the tinted and clear lens's ,a nifty case and a microfibre bag.

Here is a terrible photo of the case(and my knees).

I asked about these glasses here and BananaClip kindly offered his spare issued pair when he got back from Iraq. It was a very nice thing to do and I really appreciate it. It is also fairly typical of the kind of people here.

While I won't be using them nearly as hard as BananaClip my main use of them is on my motorbike. I use a US issue PASGT kevlar helmet for my around town and quad riding so the military issue glasses are just perfect.
One of my favorite things about the Sawflys is the clear lens. Before when I had ridden my bike to a friends during the day and stayed until after dark I would either have to ride home without eye protection or wear sunglasses at night.
The spare clear lens is a much better option.

The glasses are very comfortable and are nice and clear. They stay on well at speed and keep the bugs and dust off. Sometimes they get a bit fogged when it
is hot and I am not moving. It was probably worse in Iraq though.

The styling is mid 90's oakleys. They are not as slick as my Spy's

But they are still nothing to be ashamed of. I have taken to wearing my Spys during the day and the clear Sawflys in low light. I would not trust my Spy's to take a shotgun blast though.

Thanks again BananaClip I will be getting plenty of use out of these babies.

Nice glasses!

I had the pleasure of meeting BananaClip at Blade. He's another great example of the Yards friendship and generosity. Way to go BC, and congrats Unsub.

I'm really glad you like the glasses Unsub, they should last you a while too because they are very tough.

I really abused mine all year long and they are still in great shape.

Sweet pair of sunglasses.

They sort of remind me of the H2Optix lenses that I had but a little more boxy.

They are nice for all kinds of things. One thing you might want to take into account is if your state has a helmet law a military issue one is not DOT approved and you can get a ticket. Also, some insurance companies won't pay if you have a accident and you are supposed to have a DOT helmet on. Just a FYI!!

I got a chance to meet Banana-Clip at Blade also and I can say that he's a real stand-up guy or Dog.

Yes the PASGT helmet is not DOT approved but I live far enough north that we get
parades of guys on quads with rifles in the fall and vehicles from the 15 reserves surrounding our town are lucky to have all their doors so a dot sticker on my helmet is not a big concern. I did get a ticket for parking on the sidewalk yesterday though.

I think I will also use them a fair bit as safety glasses as well. They are quite
comfortable.
