Hi Tom!

I just can't believe what you did at Blade this year!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Your bride must be so thrilled to see your new collection of steel! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

How wonderful for her to be able to take pictures of you and your girlfriends! "INFI" Tom , you got guts! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'd been hiding half of that at least! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

You REALLY overspent this year! I know you can't take it with you but if you could what knife would you pick? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

You really discovered the secret passion....."Custom" made blades! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Only ONE just like yours! That feeling can't be beat,as well as the knowledge that your knife was hand crafted and lovingly put together just for YOU! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

That truly is a perfect size personal carry blade.I love it too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Enjoy that haul my dear friend, and tell your wife that my wife thinks she's wonderful too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Some people just never learn.

That Busse custom fighter with the burl handle is incredible and would make a fantastic "only knife" knife. You could not get a better knife for a sidearm.
I actually prefer a good fighter to a handgun for self defense and that Busse has
class as well.

Thanks guys! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Yes I went overboard, but I had my wife's blessing - what a gal!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I enjoyed the trip much more this year since she was with me and she got the "Busse experience" herself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
My only regret was that Patti, the kids, and Mrs. B couldn't make the show this year because of the move and so much going on. My wife was looking forward to meeting them too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> Well, like the Chicago Cubs - there's always next year! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

That sure is one interesting statement, and as someone in a very gun restricted country, I'm keen to learn more of your reasoning behind it please? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Within the first two minutes of walking up to the ScrapYard booth I had purchased 19 knives, with more to follow. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Terry, but you should know that they were not all for me. A few fellow Dogs asked for my help. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

To anyone who may have thought about going to a Blade show - do it! It just requires good planning - time off and funds alike.
I had been planning and saving since LAST year's Blade show! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> My wife and I agreed that the Blade show would be our vacation, and I made reservations MONTHS in advance. We tried to scrimp and save money wherever we could, as I have a limited income, and she saved vacation time from her job. Although I couldn't buy EVERY blade I wanted <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />, we had a GREAT time and I brought home some great treasures! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

So, stop making excuses - make PLANS !!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Private Klink is right, everyone can do it and enjoy it on a budget. This was my first Blade.I used points built up during the year with Holiday Inn Priority Club. Three nights free at Crown Plaza. I watched the forums and got my VIP passes from New Graham Pharmacy. 2 people all 3 days for $10.00. One extravagance was the meal at Fogos but it was with the entire Busse family where I got to meet everyone and set the tone for the weekend. They welcomed this newbie like one of the family. Bought my first knife of the weekend there,a Busse Custom Shop Cultie which I sold saturday morning and bought one of the competition finish SARsquatches that everyone is having a fit over. Good move huh? Bought my Scrap Yard Birddog from Dan friday morning and love it,love it,love it. Also pick up a Dan Koster Nessmuk which is sweet and a Blind Horse Tiger Knapp, you guys need to check them out. For $550.00 I brought home 4 very nice knives. I will never spend what some guys spend on knives but I try to spend smart. Next year I will step it up a notch. Sorry for getting long winded.

I was sorely tempted, but I'd spent enough at Knob Creek a month before and online with the BAD release (as well as a few other online knife purchases), that it would have been a financial stretch. I could have gone if I didn't buy much, but who am I trying to kid -- I'd have spent at least $3K on Culti grab bags, Competition blades, SARsquatchs, custom Hairy Carrys, MPLEs, tan YKs, and possibly more S6s.

Another reason I didn't go is that I "knew" there'd be a 'ganza; I recall 'ganzas normally go up right after Blade so I may begin to doubt that assumption if I don't see something posted soon. However, even it they don't have a Bladeganza for me to "catch up", I'll probably still do the Spring and Fall Knob Creek shows (and as noted above, my Spring show spending keeps me away from Blade), because KC is only about 1/2 hour away, while Atlanta is about 420 miles away.

Beautiful collection. Also, if you want something bad enough, you will find a way to get it.
