The warranty is one of the fringe benefits of buying from the best knife manufacturers in the world! Limited lifetime (Gerber, Buck etc), 5 years (Cold Steel), 2 years (Fallkniven)? Ha! the Busse's laugh at such wimpishness! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Saw that post on blade. Nice to know that all Bussekin are warranted regardless of owner, very cool.

Hmmm... looks like there is still at least one flawed DF out there. I never posted this, but my first DF, one of the first in California, had some air bubbles. I chopped a little wood with it and noticed some slightly rolled spots on the edge. Upon closer examination, I noticed some small hairlines in the edge bevel of the blade. Being an engineering student, I was pretty sure that those lines should not be there. I sent some pictures to Patti, she told me to send them the knife, and I got a new one a couple of weeks later! Excellent customer service! The only reason I didn't post about this is because the Scrap Yard warranty and customer service was excellent and I don't want anyone to think that there are any problems with this great company. I feel perfectly fine with having sent my DF in for warranty service. All companies have hiccups in manufacturing and this particular one (air bubbles) was out of the control of Dan and Patti. We're all just lucky to have absurdly strong knives with industry leading warranties. Long live the Yard!

Didn't Ted have a problem with Air bubbles in his DogFather? If i remember correctly didnt his blade snap in half when he tried to chop at a tree?

I remember he sent it back and got a new one.
