Hey guys wife just gave me a late fathers day gift of a new KA BAR TDI. She got one for herself too. I like it, any one else have an opinion? No it's not a work horse like my scrap yard knives but we well use them as every day off hand carry knives. i'll do a full review after a few weeks of trials.

i don't think that knife competes with anything offered by the Busse family.

i almost ordered one a couple days ago looking for a neck knife. i ended up getting something larger, the boker edit (awesome) but i still kinda want the TDI.

Congrats on your new Ka-Bar, Jefe. We can discuss other brands in comparison tests to Scrap Yard knives. Folder discussion has also been tolerated on the folder thread. We can also discuss Busse and Swamp Rat knives here. Dan has suggested that discussion of other brands be done on a general knife discussion forum. Sounds like you got a good Fathers Day gift. I'd love to see your review of it over on BF. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

don't forget, comparisons and such are okay as long as you include busse content. observe.

I've got one. I like it. Picked it up after visiting the KaBar facility.

what do you like more about the edit than a skelly warden Mag? I'm not familiar with the boker but I just don't see it

I believe the edit is quite a bit lighter compared to the swamp warden. I have several wardens that I occasionally wear as a neck knife; they are not insubstantial little beasts.
The KaBar and the Boker are more along the lines of a last-ditch blade. I feel my wardens are just regular knives on a diet.
I have used my swamp wardens as utility knifes. I probably would not use my LDI or TDI in the same manner.

the boker's way more comfortable. the drop of the blade and presence of more steel in the hand makes cutting so much more natural. the coating is also more resilient. throw in the included kydex and chain, at less than half the price, just seems like a better deal all around. also much sharper from the factory. the warden would be the better knife it it was sent past HD for a stripping, sharpening, and polishing then jeff for a quality kydex. there's no saving the grip, though. i cord wrapped it every which way, doesn't work for me.
