Nice, R.Seed, have you ever been to Ft. Lewis? Its a nice area, but you had better like rain if you'll be spending any time there outside the summer. I pass by whenever I drive from Portland to Seattle, it seems HUGE! I once pulled off the highway to switch drivers and accidentally pulled into the Fort Lewis driveway and narrowly avoided having to explain myself to the gate guards! ha ha ha good times.

Na man, this will be my first time to Fort Lewis. Im actually lucky.. My regiment is the 15th regiment and the last of Leaders Development Assessment Course that the Army Department of Cadet Command does each summer. Some of my battle buddies (other cadets within our battalion have been out there all summer)have told me about it once the cadre actually gave them their cell phones back after the 10 day FTX. Im lucky though, from what I have heard the later the regiment you get, the less chance you have for getting rained on... I am hoping this is true because I HATE rain, especially when Im sleeping in the field under the sky, no bivouac, just the ground and my sleeping bag in a patrol base. Talk about the suck... waking up in a wet sleeping bag, wet ACUs, and an entire of wet gear in a 50 pound rucksack... Now that just BLOWS in every sense of the word!

Oh yea, and this is going to be the worst part of LDAC

You probably won't see too much rain. The NW is finally looking like summer.

Now a two months or so back... well, that's another story.

Yea... you still might get those though in the woods.

Last time I came back from Forest Park I was covered in bug bits.

Shouldn't worry 'bout the face... but your arms and torso.

I had Bug bites all over my back and arms.
