Use less pressure, barely pressing down. Too much pressure causes it to round the edge.

I've never sharpened one of my Busse knives but I hear that sharpening a recurve (like the SR Mini Mojo) is more difficult than lets say, something like the SY S6.

Its not that hard at all if you have something like a sharpmaker of a very thin stone.
